SDL Trados Studio ve MemoQ çevirmenlerin verimliliğini artıran çok sayıda özelliğe sahip. Fakat artan verimlilik size para kazandırmayabilir!
Trados Studio'da yeni bir özellik var: Internal Fuzzy Match
Bugüne kadar Trados kullanırken bazı müşteriler indirim yapmamızı istiyordu, gerekçe ise TM'de bazı çevirilerin olduğu (%100) bazılarının ise çok benzer olduğuydu (fuzzy match).
Kabul ederseniz etmezsiniz, haklı bulursunuz bulmazsınız ayrı konu, ama piyasanın son 10-15 yılında böyle bir gerçek var.
Fakat bugüne kadar bu indirimler TM'de mevcut çevirilere göre talep ediliyordu. Şimdi daha da abarttılar.
Internal Fuzzy Match denilen ortada müşterinin verdiği bir TM olmasa bile dokümanı inceleyip, sizin ilk segmenti çevirmenizden sonra metinde buna benzer segmentler olup olmadığını bulmak.

When this option is selected, the Analyze Files report shows the internal fuzzy match word counts.
Internal fuzzy match analysis calculates the maximum additional leverage that can be obtained by the translator interactively translating the document with a translation memory. It assumes that the translator will translate the document from start to end, segment by segment. After each segment is confirmed, the translation memory is updated, and the best match applied to the next segment.
Example
If segment 1 is translated and confirmed (the translation memory is updated), when a lookup is performed in the translation memory for segment 2, a 75% fuzzy match is found because the first three words are identical to the translated text in segment 1.

Şimdilik Studio kullanan çok az büro var ama bunların sayısı arttıkça sizden yeni indirimler de istenecek.
Kardeşim sana verdiğim TM'de bilmem şu kadar segment %100 aynı, şu kadarı da %60-70 benzer. Geri kalan 2000 kelime de sen zaten ilk 20 segmenti çevirdiğinde %70 fuzzy olacak. Yani bu 15.000 kelimelik dosya için sana en fazla 18,02 USD veririm.
Trados çevirmenlerin verimliliğini arttırıp, bürolara para kazandırmayı felsefe edindiği için bu yeni özelliğe şaşmadım.
Maalesef MemoQ (program olarak Deja Vu'yu kopyaladığı, daha kibarcası ona öykündüğü halde, hatta piyasaya ilk çıktığında DVX kullanıcıları MemoQ'ya Copycat adını takmıştı), pazarlama felsefesi olarak Trados'u takip/taklit ediyor.
MemoQ'da da homogeneity denilen bir özellik var.

Homogeneity: Analysis against the segments within the selected scope is called homogeneity analysis. This is one of memoQ's power features. Check this check box to emulate building a translation memory during translation, and see the savings that will result from the internal similarities within the project. Using homogeneity, you are able to see the benefits of your future contribution – i.e. the contribution while you will be translating – to the translation memory. You are also able to give a much better estimation of your resources to be spent on translation than without homogeneity. If you use the analysis to give a quotation, always look for the aggregate results as they reflect the real productivity gain through using memoQ.
Studio'nun Internal Fuzzy Match, MemoQ'nun Homogeneity denilen özellikleri görünüşte çevirmenin işini kolaylaştırma amacını taşıyor fakat asıl amaç bürolara daha fazla kazandırmak.
