only target text is showing in PPT

I have SDL Trados 7.1.0.7.1.9 (719) with windows xp.
I am trying to translate a PPT for a client and it is due soon. The problem I am having is only the target text is showing in TagEditor. (the client sent me a TM).
How can I have both texts show so I can start this translation!!

I need to clarify a few issues.


I have SDL Trados 7.1.0.7.1.9 (719) with windows xp.

Are you referring to text displayed in TagEditor (as you stated in your posting) or in PowerPoint (as in the title of your posting)?

How can TE show the target text if you haven't started the translation - are you referring to source text?

Did you get a .ppt file or a .ttx file?

Are you using the Edit tab in TagEditor?

When I open the file in TagEditor it only shows the target text. Exactly I don't know why it is only showing the target text even though I haven't started translating yet. Remember I have a TM from the client, When I open the powerpoint it shows the text I need to translate, but I don't see it in TagEditor. I am in edit mode. So I don't know what is going on and my translation is due Monday

Can I assume, it is the PPT file you are talking about? NOT the ttx?

Hm... Could it be, that somebody did a pretranslation using some old(er) TRADOS Version....
When I open the powerpoint it shows the text I need to translate, but I don't see it in TagEditor.

I'd make a copy and >clean< it to see what happens.
So I don't know what is going on and my translation is due Monday
