Openning Trados 7.0 memory in Trados 6.5

I wonder if Trados 6.5 opens the memory created in Trados 7.0? For example if I send the customer memory created in Trados 7.0, will he be able to open, and use it in Trados 6.5? Thank you for any suggestions!

No, it doesn't.

What you can try is to export the tm as txt file and delete all the coding at the beginning (ie. everything before the TUs proper start). This way, the client might be able to import the tm into 6.5. But definitely let the client know, in case there are other difficulties, particularly since you work with Russian, which might be affected by the switch to unicode in version 7.

Easy way Sep 22, 2005

File-> Export-> (choose your preferences) -> Enter file name -> Pay attention to this section: Save as type - scroll to Translator's Workbench (2.x - 6.x)(*.txt) - Click OK.
