I've just received an email from someone called "Paul" that says: "I am willing to employ a competent individual to become my Part-time Personal Assistant. Would you be interested? If yes, email me and i will respond with a detailed job description." I'm laughing so hard....

Aren't we lucky! | | |
I always dreamt about being personal assistants of Pauls
I'm devastated that I'm not the only chosen one.

And by "everyone" I don't just mean everyone on proZ but pretty much everyone. I got it through proZ, my wife got it through LinkedIn, I saw it popping up on Facebook and on Monday I'll check with my nan to see if she had anything in the post. I am kind of intrigued, though, what might be behind this.

Now you made me feel REALLY bad - I didn't get it, so I really must be a nobody .... not even scammers contact me! And I always considered myself perfect Personal Assistant material.

That wasn't my intention. But look at it from the bright side: it probably just means that you have a better spam filter than some of us.

I think we should all apply to Paul ! Seriously though - what kind of scam is this and how did Paul harvest all our email addresses? What's he up to?

I actually got an email just now saying that. It was just so empty and barmy and everything. Needless to say, I deleted it straight away.
