During the first six months practically nothing happened despite all my attempts to find at least a single client. Then suddenly the jobs started to come in, and within a few months I even had to decline a job offer.

In the course of the years there were really busy times and also not quite so busy times. But things are going well and I can pick the jobs I want without being overly concerned with how I can make ends meet now that I am more or less retired.

Subtitling is indeed an underpaid field of specialization, of which I was reminded again when I was contacted with thew request to time code and subtitle a video for the generous rate of USD 1,00 per audio minute. ▲ Collapse
