Source text - English The social network Tweeter is testing new a feature that warns users before sharing articles they have not previously read.
Twitter, which recently has modified its policies to mitigate misinformation and untrustworthy sources, has implemented a new feature for a better chatting experience. This feature will caution users when sharing unopened articles. The firm explained in a surprisingly brief statement (posted in one single tweet) that "sharing an article might trigger a conversation, so you might want to read it before tweeting it," almost as if frowning upon users who post links only after reading their headlines.
"To foster well-informed debates" this new feature will start to be tested so far in the Android app only. It can encourage users to read beforehand the articles before retweeting them. This feature will naturally detect only whether the user had already opened the link on Twitter. Nonetheless, it will ignore if the user had already opened it before on his browser, or if the user received it via any other social network.
The company explained—through a response to one of its users—that the platform will check if you have recently opened the article from Twitter only, not from any other external site, but you will always be able to ignore the suggestion and retweet the post anyways.
