• On a daily basis I personally translate legal opinions, powers of attorney, contracts, bylaws, executive reports, financial statements, balances sheets, auditors’ reports, codes of ethics & conduct, regulatory and compliance standards, mining agreements, as well as all sort of business documents connected to corporate governance, like business and executive summaries that accompany large corporations’ rendering of accounts by the board to shareholders. I am also familiar with translations of legal documents as pleadings, legal opinions, law scholars’ views and reasoning, laws etc.

• I am also an attorney-at-law practicing in Brazil over the past 7 years (+ 3 years as a Legal Intern) both in lower and higher courts, providing clients with counseling and litigation services in all practice areas: civil liability, criminal law, corporate law, employment & labor law, as well as issuing legal opinions & reports aiming at anticipating consequences and guiding decision-making processes. Helping people to achieve justice has been another source of personal fulfillment.

After acting 3 years as Legal Intern, I started practicing as a legal consultant and attorney-at-law with both lower and higher courts in civil liability, consumer, criminal, administrative, corporate, and labor law. I have filed successful civil lawsuits claiming: compensation in consumer law for economic damages and pain & suffering; labor complaints defending both employers’ and employees’ rights; criminal lawsuits to release innocent suspects from jail; possessory action to recover property possession.

In the field of administrative law, I have been providing restaurants and other businesses with legal advice so that they meet all the requirements to legally conduct business within the capital city of Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil, which included lawsuits and injunctions filed to guarantee their corresponding business licenses. As for real property law, I have been providing landlords with technical advice to manage their leases, which includes drawing up rental agreements, reviewing situations aiming at solving lease-related problems, many times acting as a mediator so as to avoid that controversies turn into lawsuits, and also going to court when required. As for higher courts, I filed lawsuits with the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice to sanction foreign judgments of divorce. To sum up, I am a hands-on attorney and my routine is to see clients since the first interview, provide them with advice, analyze the entire case, trace the legal strategy, draw up the corresponding pleadings to be filed with courts, attend court hearings, coach parties and witnesses, attend private interviews with judges, and filing appeals with higher courts of law.
