Translation - English In July 20th, 2010, the International Energy Agency reported that China had overtaken the United States in energy demand. In 2009 China used 2252 million tons of oil equivalent (mtoe), while the United States, which has been the world’s largest energy consumer for more than 100 years, used only 2170 mtoe. China promptly denied this claim in an attempt to avoid its corresponding political, environmental and economical responsibilities, and affirmed that it only used 2130 mtoe for the same year. The difference between the two rates is insignificant. Obviously if China could deny taking the top spot for this year, it could not next year. In addition to this, China is the largest coal consumer in the world. Its consumption of coal exceeds 50% of the world’s coal production and it has to import coal from other countries, which shows the capacity it needs to satisfy its voracious appetite for coal and other energy sources. Yet, China’s per capita consumption of energy remains less than a quarter of The United States’ average. One can clearly see the direction in which China is headed.
China’s energy production has doubled from 2000 to 2009, but the IEA -the body concerned with the future of energy and the avoidance of unpleasant future surprises- misestimated China’s production growth at between 3-4% per year for the passed nine years. The actual annual growth rate exceeded 7%, and the IEA’s margin of error exceeded 50%. This is considered a serious drop in the performance of an organization that possesses all the means needed to predict the future of the field for which it was created.

Source text - English h) Persons with Functional Visual Limitations (Eu.For.Me.: 41-45):
This includes both persons who are “blind” and those with moderate to severe functional visual limitations. Only a small percentage of persons with functional visual limitations are “blind”. In all other cases the way of perceiving space, although limited, can vary greatly from individual to individual. Besides, the perception of the world around us also takes place through the other senses (touch, sounds, smells). A very low residual visual capacity and blindness can cause serious mobility and orientation problems:

Bio
More than a job, it is a passion and a pastime. Translation for me is more or less like arranging a bouquet of words, facts, views and emotions in a vase of virtual stationery. This is how 'enjoyable' becomes 'duty'.
I translated books, articles in various general and specific fields and worked in TV program subtitling. My work is usually highly valued. In most times I received more work from the same clients. I did not go through too many experiences before realizing that I should not accept work more than I can achieve and submit on time while paying great attention to quality in every sense of the word.
