'operational range'/range

I'll suggest these possibilities. for 'operational range' I see the definition - "maximum distance that a weapon or transport vehicle can travel before it loses its effectiveness" - seems to match the usage given (more context may be necessary).

Simply 'range' most often says all your need in a tech spec context. 'Operational range' is more widely used and understood in terms of describing the capabilities of air, land and sea equipment (and some weapons, tho this can be effective range).
Example sentence:

Operational range at full speed, minimum 300 m.

Peer comment(s):

agree Michael Ellis : 'Range' is the usual word used in Commonwealth and US Navies, see<http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/The-Fleet/Ships/Assault-Ships/HM...> and is also used for merchant ships. "Operating/operational range" is also used

action radius/radius of action

I'll do the exception here and submit a second answer, tho this isn't my habit. But if you want to have 'action' in your term, this meets the bill.

As defined - 'the maximum distance that a ship, aircraft, or land vehicle can travel from its base and return without refuelling' - this could also serve your purpose, depending on your context.

Maybe you can just enjoy the pictures in the last cite ('action radius with cruising speed') below! ;-)

Peer comment(s):

disagree Michael Ellis : Despite Bering Yachts' macho image, this may not be suitable for non-warships. The Royal Swedish Navy uses 'aktionsradie' and I wonder if that has come through your subconscious, Deane?!

Ha-ha, nice one... macho is the word! The Swe mil. usage certainly seems to be the origin of the Swe term here, but I got a lot of US mil. hits for this EN term. These yacht references seemed to be more fun! ;-)
