agree Deane Goltermann : This is 'catchy' Swedish avoiding use of the stereotypic 'smorgasbord' (which is also a buffet table), since the rest of the world sees it as 'Buffet Table of Swedish Foods'.

There is a BIG difference between a Buffet Table and a smorgasbord. (even if the buffet table has "Swedish food" on it.)

invitation table

Depending on context -- compare with buffet table.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Christopher Schröder : Would be interested to know what an "invitation table" is /// As I suspected, not a single relevant picture. The term just doesn't exist. Why try to mislead people with daft answers? /// Be specific - bet you can't find a single relevant hit. /// Bet.

Take a look at "invitation table" in Google Images; but it's all a matter of context, ie, buffet or invitation. To Chris S, my response is that Google Images does exist and "invitation table" does exist as anyone can see. I leave it to the Asker. //Bet?
neutral Charlesp : I think that "invitation table" might work, at a trade faire, or perhaps a information table. But an "invitation table" is usually a table with invitations (i.e. not with food (inviting or not).

The obvious buffet table might not be quite what the Asker is looking for - it could simply be examples of different tastes.
