Propionic Acid
Propionic Acid is a colorless, pungent-smelling liquid, miscible with water and almost all common organic solvents. It is commonly used as a preservative and nutrient enhancer, anti-mold agent, and flavoring; as an intermediate for herbicides, pharmaceuticals, and dyes; in textile and rubber auxiliaries; and in plastics, plasticizers and cosmetics. The salts of propionic acid are used in many of the same applications.
