Portuguese term
serviço automóvel
Portuguese to English
Bus/Financial
Retail
This is more an exercise in interpretation and imagination than translation. The context is a feasibility report on the development of a shopping centre in Portugal which, in addition to the mall proper, will have 2 stand-alones (dedicated retail units with their own entrance). One of them will be devoted to "serviços automóvel".
Here's the context:
"O conceito comercial integra apenas duas unidades “stand alone” dedicadas a serviços automóvel e a Equipamento do Lar."
My question is whether we are talking about a car accessories store (where you might buy batteries, car parts, car radios, etc) or a service establishment e.g. a tyre fitting or exhaust fitting facility.
PLEASE do not propose a literal translation (I can do that without help). The points go the best EXPLANATION, not the best "translation".

Anyway, this is a suggestion :)
Here in Portugal it is becoming common that certain hypermarkets/malls propose repair services (of course they sell accesories too). This is usually linked to the food store/mall brand.

Comment: "Thank you Cristina. Your explanation was what I was looking for - based on local knowledge. I think vera-tech also makes a good point about keeping it vague. Thanks to you both."

auto services
I don't live in Portugal, but I would tend to agree with Cristina.
I do think, though, that if they were only talking about accessories, they would have put that in their title, and not "services." But since there is no more information, and it ends up being a better or worse guess, I don't think you should specify. If you go with "Automobile services," you're covered, independently of the services they envision to offer.
