*Rotação* - Período de tempo entre dois cortes culturais.
Please don't suggest 'ROTATION' as I believe it's the translation for "REVOLUÇÃO", having found a meaning for 'rotation' as 'the period between planting and harvesting' - http://www.forestry.gov.uk/fr/INFD-5V8ED8
(*Revolução* - Idade do povoamento no seu corte final. Período de tempo entre a instalação do povoamento e o seu corte final.)
By the same logic then, ROTAÇÃO would be REVOLUTION...? /

This is the expression used for crops, not trees - which would be 'felling'.
My discussion entry was based on the assumption of it being a 'fallow period', which it is not.
Best or luck :)

Note from asker:
Yes, thanks Christina, I have the same glossary. The problem is that the source text defines it differently, i.e. it uses "revolução" for this meaning, so have translated "revolução" as "rotation", and will use "cutting cycle" for "rotação", which is defined as the period of time between two harvests. |
Discussion
Is it the natural gap each year between harvests, or the 'período de pousio', which extends longer?
