Portuguese term

arquivo de recolhas (please read the context supplied)

Anyone have any bright suggestions? I'm toying with "collection of snippets" but I'm not thinking clearly today.

lexical No problem. Thanks for letting us know the end :-) Well, scrapbook makes a lot more sense. Bom trabalho.

Paula I was finally able to contact the author of the book review who said she was using "arquivo de recolhas" in the sense of "álbum de recortes" (scrapbook). I don't know if that is the sole meaning of the term, however. Thank you for all your interest in this saga.
Paula Vaz-Carreiro Feb 1, 2010:
lexical I'm sorry but I have no idea. Do you have the book's title? Have you tried to look it up on amazon or some such place?...

lexical (asker) Feb 1, 2010:
Paula/Kathryn/Dulce Could 'arquivo de recolhas' have something of the flavour of a scrapbook? I've only ever seen it in the context of ranchos folcloricos where it is sometimes used to describe an informal collection of photos, playbills, etc.
Paula Vaz-Carreiro Feb 1, 2010:
lexical, I see, thanks. If I think of something better than set/collection of snippets, I'll propose it. However, I think your own idea is pretty good.
lexical (asker) Feb 1, 2010:
Paula Sorry, that's all the context there is. It's one of a series of brief reviews of language teaching materials.
Paula Vaz-Carreiro Feb 1, 2010:
lexical Do you know what these "recolhas" consists of?
Are they idiomatic sentences that facilitate communication or facts about Portugal, or what? Thanks
