fishermen's cabins

"fishermen's cabins" is also a popular translation of "rorbuer", and would perhaps sound a bit more appealing to tourists than "shack", which has more negative associations to a hut/cabin that is run-down, shabby, more primative. Having said that, a lot of Norwegian tourist sites use it.

Thanks, Per. I haven't heard that one before, but I like it. And it's still more appealing than "shack".
agree Christopher Burin : Yes, or fishmerman's huts, which I've often heard

fishermen's shacks

"Rorbu" cabins can be found in the Lofoten islands in northern Norway and are shacks used by the fishermen.

agree Christine Andersen : I've been told this by a client. They may also be hired out to tourists who come for the fishing.

Thank you, Christine. I forgot to mention it, but yes, indeed, they are often rented out to tourists visiting this part.
