German term

Schreibbüro

German to English Medical Medical (general)
This comes up in a questionnaire for hospitals aimed at defining their software needs. My question is what might a hospital call its 'Schreibbüro' in English?

Context: Schreiben Sie die Anamnesen, Berichte und Arztbriefe selbst oder gibt es ein Schreibbüro?

Transcription office / department

Many physicians dictate their file notes into a recorder or recording system; the tapes / sound files are then directed to transcriptionists who type them.
Also "transcription service" if this is outsourced.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks. I've used transcription department and transcription service for 'Schreibdienst' when they talk about dictation later."

Secretarial Section
The Secretarial Pool provides qualified secretaries, based on availability of staff, for temporary coverage to the Hospital departments/divisions during periods of leave, sickness, or other short-term absences of their regularly assigned secretaries.
The Typing Pool provides typing and formatting (English/Arabic) of Hospital documents, including letters, contracts, reports, manuals, and/or other special projects that cannot be handled by the requesting department.

There is a common typing pool in the radiology departments where all radiology investigation reports are typed. A portion of the reports is typed at the US counter also.

Note from asker:
typing pool was my first thought too but it seems a little 1950s

agree Astrid Elke Witte : Agree with "typing pool". They have them in lawyers' offices, too.
