...in the sense of "relating to an operation". Seems like it could work and it sounds more familiar to my ears.
"Systemic" might also be work, but I think it brings to mind biology, where it seems like a specific technique is being discussed here...also, it might be confused with Post-Weaning Multi-systemic Wasting Syndrome, something I just glimpsed through Google! :)
