additional periods to be taken into consideration

In Germany, the periods of vocational training and to raise children are added to the periods of employment, which means, for example, that people who have not met the criteria, i.e. the prescribed number of years of gainful employment (pension contributions) will nevertheless qualify for an old-age pension when the years of vocational training and to bring up children are added.
Not a very eloquent explanation but that about sums it up :)

complementary times

I recently went through this with the BfA, so I know what it means and this would be a meaningful translation in my mother tongue: English. All of my school years beyond high school (i.e. University), counted as if I'd worked. Good luck!
