Under "Rauch- und Wärmeabzugsanlagen" I found an Austrian Company specialised in this field. On their Website you can read: "Man unterscheidet folgende Arten zur Auslösung und Ansteuerung von Rauch- und Wärmeabzugsanlagen.... So, in this context I would recommend "triggering" but I have to admit that I'm not quite sure. Chris, VdS is Vertrauen durch Sicherheit, and SHE is Smoke and Heat Extraction.

Thanks, Steffen, but I had spent some time browsing the VdS website but without finding any use of the term Taktung. SHE = Smoke and Heat Extraction (in this case), ie, RWA in German.

Normally, I use "clocking", but it's difficult without knowing the meaning of VdS and SHE.
