German term

Aktualisierung mit Updates

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks
IT context: I cannot think of anything other than updating with (or using) updates!
Any of my colleagues out there with a brainwave?

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com May 23, 2005:
This is in a list of items not included in the scope of delivery for control and logistics systems:
." (@Cilian: I am ALWAYS decent!)
Endre Both May 23, 2005:
Agree with Elvira: please give more context.
Elvira Stoianov May 23, 2005:
well, maybe you could give your colleagues the sentence, so we can see what it is about ;). In my opinion, this question cannot be answered without more context

regular updates/update process

Methinks this is a German writer attempting to make their text 'cool' by indiscriminately adding Anglicisms ...
Hard to say without more context, but you shouldn't have to stick ridigly to the source sentence, especially since it seems pretty nonsensical. I would simply go for 'regular updates' or 'a regular update process'.

agree gangels (X) : right, it's double Dutch, Apple just feeds me "software updates". Aktualisierung just means continually updating the news.

installation of updates

is what I would use in this particular context ('...installation of updates and patches'). However, if you regard 'Wartung und Aktualisierung' as a semantic unit, you could also say 'maintanance and updating using updates and patches' (why not?)

enhanced/advanced versions
