Even my local supermarket (in Athens) is selling a recipe book called "DIPS" (written in the Latin alphabet). But my question is for a restaurant menu and I'd like to use Greek if possible. The restaurant is here in Athens, and it needs a Greek translation of the menu because it has Greek customers, so I feel very uncomfortable using "dips" in a 'translation'!!
The menu includes two types of "dip", which may make a difference in translation.
Firstly there's the widely known 'dip' which is part of the ορεκτικά e.g. "Hot nibbles....served with blue-cheese, garlic mayo and chilli dips"
Then there's the 'dip' that's a sauce served with a main meal, but not poured over it e.g. "Succulent chicken pieces...with a honey mustard dip".

Thanks! Almost literal translation, but I would never have guessed at it! |
