ovviamente il senso è ironico, come nel testo inglese: con "fuorilegge" vengono in mente i film western, è un termine che fa come "scofflaw" associato a graffitari & Co. - c'è dietro la strizzata d'occhio.
Anche in senso fig., di persona che nella vita morale, nella sua attività, negli studî, ecc. sia ribelle a ogni norma e consuetudine comunemente seguita.

Dopo aver letto l'articolo, trovo che il senso non sia poi così ironico ("Wearing a pair of XXX meant that you either wrote graffiti or you were somehow involved in crime and the scene"). In ogni caso "fuorilegge" ci sta.
Anche in senso fig., di persona che nella vita morale, nella sua attività, negli studî, ecc. sia ribelle a ogni norma e consuetudine comunemente seguita.

ho pensato che scofflaw e' un termine nato ai tempi del proibizionismo per indicare chi beveva illegalmente e rimanda ad altri tempi. Mi e' venuto in mente un termine alternativo che in italiano mi sembra altrettanto datato e te lo propongo.

il termine ci sta tutto... anche perché parlando di sneaker e graffitari, si rivolgono chiaramente a un target giovanile, non certo ai boomer
