Italian term

piedini skin mates

Italian to English Art/Literary Transport / Transportation / Shipping Artwork packaging
In a document about transporting artwork from one gallery to another there are instructions regarding the protective packaging:
"Le opere di medie o grandi dimensioni, o su tavola e i materiali archeologici, dovranno essere imballati per il trasporto con doppia cassa ignifuga rinforzata sugli angoli, dotata di sistema antivibrazione (PIEDINI SKIN MATES) e dotata di ammortizzante tipo “ethafoam”, sia quale rivestimento interno che come ammortizzante fra le due casse..."
I understand about the lined, double crate system with a shock absorption system and cushioning material inside and in between the inner and outer crate. I know what "ethafoam" is but I have never heard of "piedini skin mates" (all in lower case in the source document), nor can I find any internet references to "skin mates" in a packaging context. I'm assuming these are some kind of feet or stoppers to aborb shock and minimize vibration, and "skin mates" may be a proprietary name, as is "ethafoam". Can anyone confirm if my understanding is correct or if they have a better, more informed idea? Many thanks

The sooner they make it impossible to post Paid Members Only questions, the better. And I say that as a paid member.
Rachel Fell Dec 10, 2018:
Pity, it seems a bit of a daft option if it can't be adjusted - I can't even post a "Reference" comment.
Pauline Teale (asker) Dec 10, 2018:
I've tried again to make it open to everyone and asked it to save changes, but I did that last time too, so not sure why it didn't work
Rachel Fell Dec 10, 2018:
Thank you PTeale, though it still says it's restricted to members for some reason.
Pauline Teale (asker) Dec 10, 2018:
Hopefully you can now, Rachel, as I've removed any restrictions on who can answer. Sorry if I may have inadvertently prevented you from doing so when I originally posted the question.
Rachel Fell Dec 10, 2018:
Unfortunately I am unable to, Phil, I am not eligible.
philgoddard Dec 10, 2018:
You should put that as an answer, Rachel.
Pauline Teale (asker) Dec 10, 2018:
Yes, that sounds exactly right. Thank you!

NOT "skidmate" as in Rachel's suggestion (with which I don't agree)
Note from asker:
Thanks for your suggestion but I'm sure you must be joking. My document has nothing to do with foot warmers and, as I explained, it is about packaging for artwork, so I am sure Rachel's suggestion is correct
