Dear colleagues, this is a marketing text of a company that offers solutions for the remediation of contaminated sites like former landfills or sites of industrial production, including sludge dewatering solutions.
"remediation" I translated to "Sanierung", but I would be grateful for any suggestions regarding restitution / restoration. I thought of "Wiederaufbereitung" as a translation for "restoration", but with restitution I'm a bit at a loss. Does it mean that they replace the contanimated soil?

Sanierung
So kenne ich es nur aus sehr vielen Konferenzen. Wenn due zwei Begriffe vorziehst, dann einfach "Sanierung / Wiedernutzbarmachung". Aber der gängige Begriff ist, wie du bereits selbst vorgeschlagen hast, Sanierung, jedenfalls im europäischen Raum.

Discussion
Wiedernutzbarmachung impliziert, dass das Gelände momentan nicht nutzbar ist. Tatsächlich kann es aber sehr wohl nutzbar sein oder sogar genutzt werden, nur eben für etwas anderes.
"replace the contanimated soil"
Es kann auch darum gehen, das Erdreich einfach nur wegzuschaffen ("auskoffern") oder darum den Inhalt einer Müllkippe (also den Müll, nicht oder nicht nur das Erdreich) zu beseitigen.
