: I reject "journey" as a suggestion. "trip" - maybe but it has a more complex meaning than "wędrówka". I believe "wędrówka" is specific enough to imply hiking/trekking.

: the examples are useful. But "venture out" is either a literal reading "stick your head outside" or somewhat figurative, as to "venture out" to the Rocky Mountains. Does it imply "wędrówka"? IMP - rather unlikely.

I enjoy the discussion btw.
"Trip" does not suggest "wędrówka" to me. "venture out" may not be applicable here (it really means "wyjść na dwór"). Lots of nuances but I stand by my suggestion that a trek is the best choice here.
