Spanish term

tipo de servicio de la conducción

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) Resins
I'm proofreading a text and have come across 'type of service pipe' but I'm not sure that is what is meant here, that would be 'tipo de conducción de servicio' wouldn´t it?

type of conduction service?
what the piping/pipe is used for?

Hi all Thank you all for your help. I went with Alvaro's suggestion of 'intended use'.

@ Álavaro Very, very sorry for the very, very late reply!! Can you post your suggestion as an answer please so I can close it and award points? :)
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jul 1, 2011:
@ Neil As I said it doesn´t mention what the pipe is for. It's a very short text and is mainly about resins used in the pipes.
Neil Ashby Jul 1, 2011:
Beware FLUID A fluid is something which flows and includes both liquids and gases.....
Surely somewhere else in the text it mentions what the pipe is for (natural gas, waste water, etc....)??
I tend to agree with Alvaro (put it as answer and I'll more than tend to agree, I will agree ;@) ) "intended use" seems to fit well.
"Conduction service type" could easily mean the sort of conduction involved (where conduction just means movement of a fluid) i.e. intended use....
moken Jul 1, 2011:
I don't have specialist knowledge ...but if that reading is right then it would be a tad redundant, since its intended use would depend on the type and density of the fluid, environmental conditions (temperature, humidity etc.) anyway. As I say, I'm no expert so "servicio de conducción" might involve other paramters different to those mentioned afterwards.
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jul 1, 2011:
@ Ávaro That's funny - I just thought of the same thing before I looked at your post! Doesn´t specify what the pipe (unless 'conducción' actually refers to a 'conduction service') is used for.
moken Jul 1, 2011:
"what the piping/pipe is used for?" Yes, that's exactly what I understand :"intended use" would sum it up imo, though you might want/need to be more specific. :O)
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jul 1, 2011:
Forgot to say The company is a pipe manufacturer.
