New York. $50 the very bottom for simultaneous, usually with 3 hr minimum. Why don't they offer some free English classes, if they cannot afford interpreters, or ask some millionaires for help.
Otherwise, a line of credit may always be a solution.

"Finding volunteers who will consistently step in for free at each meeting is impossible, they said." Sounds like they tried. Sounds like they're disappointed it didn't work.
Translation is our profession. Why do they expect us to exercise it "for free at each meeting"?
Would they be surprised if they called for volunteer surgeons for operations and none showed up "for free"?
