Source text - French Le réseau routier au Cameroun comprend actuellement 121 873,93 km, avec 9143,69 km de routes bitumées. Les ambitions du Cameroun visent concrètement à faire passer la densité du réseau bitumé pour 1 000 habitants de 0,32 en 2020 à 0,48 en 2030. L’atteinte de cet objectif passe par la construction de 6000 kilomètres de nouvelles routes, la réhabilitation de 3000 kilomètres de routes bitumées et l’entretien permanent de l’ensemble du réseau routier sur la période 2020-2030.Cette vision, qui a pour but essentiel de faire du Cameroun un pays émergent à l’horizon 2035, sera concrétisée à travers la réalisation de projets routiers garantissant : les échanges avec les pays voisins ; une amélioration de la circulation autour et entre les grandes villes ; le désenclavement des pôles de production et d’exploitation minière et la liaison des ports camerounais aux corridors transfrontaliers.
Aussi, compte tenu des coûts relativement importants des différents projets identifiés, le recours aux nouveaux modes de financement, impliquant le secteur privé apparait dès lors comme une opportunité. En outre, dans le souci de maitriser et diminuer les coûts des travaux de construction de nos routes et d’augmenter la durabilité de nos interventions sur routes en terre, il est envisagé la construction d’une usine de production locale de bitume, de même que l’implantation d’une usine de production de produits stabilisants pour l’entretien des routes en terre.
Translation - English The road network in Cameroon currently comprises 121,873.93 km, with 9,143.69 km of paved roads. Cameroon’s ambitions are to practically increase the fraction of the paved network per 1,000 inhabitants from 0.32 in 2020 to 0.48 in 2030. This objective will be achieved by constructing 6,000 kilometres of new roads, rehabilitating 3,000 kilometres of paved roads and the continual maintenance of the entire road network over the period 2020-2030. This vision, whose main goal is to make Cameroon an emerging country by 2035, will be achieved through the implementation of road projects that guarantee: exchanges with neighbouring countries; improved circulation within and between major cities; the opening up of production and mining centres and the connection of Cameroon ports to cross-border corridors.
Also, given the relatively high costs of the various projects identified, resorting to new modes of financing that involve the private sector appears to be an opportunity. In addition, to control and reduce the costs of road construction and to increase the durability of our interventions on earth roads, the construction of a local bitumen production plant is envisaged, as well as the establishment of a plant for the production of stabilising products for maintaining earth roads.

I am a Freelance Translator (FR-EN), Editor, Proofreader and language teacher. I hold a Doctorate Degree in Applied Linguistics, a Master's in Translation and a BA in English and French Combined. I lived in and pursued all my studies in a bilingual country, Cameroon, so I significant exposure to and mastery of my working languages.
I have translated documents in Civil Engineering, human resources, social sciences, literature and religion, amongst others. My rates are quite friendly and I am meticulous about deadlines.
