(R-Ill.) sent a somewhat lengthy letter to NRC Chairman Allison Macfarlane on November 21 to question the US Nuclear
Regulatory Commission’s (NRC’s) “use of its staffing and
resources” after the NRC took 97 days following the DC Circuit Court instructed the agency to resume work on the Yucca
Mountain license application to issue an order to its staff to
complete the Yucca Mountain Safety Evaluation Report
(SER). The two representatives, members of the House Energy and Commerce committee and chairs of the Subcommittee
on Energy and Power and Environment and the Economy,
respectively, commended Macfarlane for the decision to proceed with completion of the SER, “a long-overdue action for
which the Commission has stated it has adequate resources.”
The letter pointed out that the NRC has accepted license
applications to build 28 new reactors, but only four of those
have been concluded; applications for another 15 new reactors have been suspended, leaving only nine applications still
undergoing review – one-third of the previous workload. Six of
those applications will have been pending for seven years or
longer before the review will be completed. Shimkus and
Whitfield point out other examples of the NRC’s “declining
workload,” then assert that the NRC’s “schedule discipline
appears to be eroded…” They wrote, “We would expect to see
any decrease in workload lead to more timely reviews but that
does not appear to be the case here…we feel compelled to
ask: Is the NRC functioning as efficiently as it should and are
its actions focused on matters that are safety significant?”

Geant4 low energy extensions have been used to simulate the X-ray spectra of industrial X-ray tubes
with lters for removing the uncertain low energy part of the spectrum in a controlled way. The results
are compared with precisely measured X-ray spectra using a silicon drift detector. Furthermore, this
paper shows how the di erent dose rates in silicon and silicon dioxide layers of an electronic device can
be deduced from the simulations.
1 Introduction
Radiation hardness of semiconductors can be tested
by irradiation with X-rays, since these introduce ef- ciently trapped ionization in the silicon oxide layers, which e.g. leads to voltage shifts in MOSFET
transistors. The damage depends not only on the
X-ray
ux, but also strongly on the spectrum of
the X-rays. The total
ux can be obtained from
a calibrated pin diode, but an accurate measurement of the X-ray spectrum is complex and time
consuming. A simulation is a more convenient way
to get the spectrum. In this paper Geant4 [1] low
energy extensions have been tested for this purpose.
The results are compared with precisely measured
X-ray spectra using a silicon drift detector (SDD).
Furthermore, the di erent dose rates in silicon and
silicon dioxide layers of an electronic device can be
deduced from the simulations.
2 Experimental Setup
The X-ray tube of type DX-W8x0.4-2S with a tungsten anode has a maximum power of 2000 W and
a maximum voltage of 60 kV. The tube window is
made of 0.4 mm Beryllium, so that only low energy photons are absorbed by the window. The
X-ray tube is equipped with di erent lters that
can be mounted behind the exit window. These
lters are vanadium (15 m), manganese (25 m),
iron (15 m), nickel (15 m) and zirconium (75 m).
These lters absorb low energy photons in di erent
energy regions. The minimal con gurable current
of the HV-module is 2 mA. The top part of Fig. 1
shows the tube with the lters. The tungsten collimator for measuring the spectrum at a reduced rate
in a silicon drift detector is shown in the lower part.

1. 서론

ABSTRACT:A hybrid power system based on coal pyrolysis and steam integration is proposed to improve the performance of
power plants. The most outstanding features of the system are a pyrolysis process integrated with a circulatingfluidized bed
boiler and power generation by the steam integration. The model of the hybrid power system is set up by THERMOFLEX
software and Aspen Plus. Results show that the thermal efficiency of pyrolysis process can achieve values of 90%−95%, and the
majority of the energy used by the pyrolysis is consumed during the drying and quench processes. Compared with a conventional
steam cycle power system, the gross electric efficiency and thermal efficiency of the new system are increased by 1.9% and 5.1%,
respectively. Energy and exergy analyses are presented to study the performance differences of two systems. Exergy destruction of
the boiler with steam integration is decreased in the new system. Exergy destruction of gas turbines is lower than that of the
boiler. Although additional exergy loss occurs in the pyrolyzer and heat recovery steam generator, the overall exergy loss of the
new system is less than that of the conventional system

Followers of things Korean quickly learn that Hangeul, the Korean writing system, frequently makes the news. This is odd because writing systems generate little news compared with spoken languages. Most languages around the world use a writing system that has evolved from another neighboring system or a combination of systems. People complain about the inconvenience of the details of orthography, but they rarely stop to think about the structure of a writing system, let alone the possibility that one writing system might be "better" than another. Hangeul is fascinating because it forces numerous questions about writing systems to the surface while offering insight into the contours of Korean history. To understand Hangeul in full, it is best understood from linguistic, historical, and political perspectives.

INTRODUCTION:
The Wireless Remote Audio Perimeter Sharing (WRAPS™) System allows up to (4) officers located up to 350 ft.
away from the “Transceiver Base Station”to simultaneously communicate (talk and listen) to one another via the
provided “Remote Transceivers.”
The "Transceiver Base Station" serves as the communications hub for the "Remote Transceivers."
When the "Transceiver Base Station" is powered on it essentially creates a "communications field" with 700 ft.
diameter (illustrated below as a bluecircle).
"Remote Transceivers" that are located within the "communications field" are able to communicate with one
another simultaneously (similar to telephone conference call) (illustrated as red dashed lines).
The WRAPS™System may also be used with the Direct‐Link Crisis Response Throw Phone System.
This is accomplished by connecting (1) "Remote Transceiver" to the Direct‐Link System via provided "Amplified
Multi‐Extension Box."
When used with the Direct‐Link System, (3) officers located up to 350 ft. away from the “Transceiver Base Station”
can wirelessly monitor the Direct‐Link System’s Primary Negotiator OR Covert Audio Channel data (whichever RCA
jack the "Amplified Multi‐Extension Box" is connected to) (illustrated as greendashed lines) as well as
simultaneously communicate with one another to discuss/develop response strategies (illustrated as reddashed
lines).
The "Remote Transceiver" connected to the Direct‐Link System is ONLY broadcasting out the audio channel data.
Therefore, communications between the officers on the other "Remote Transceivers" are NOTfed back through
the Direct‐Link System.
