English term or phrase: shipping joint
J'ai cette phrase : "the mains busbars will be tested and recorded at each shipping joint to determine the contact resistance".

neutral  Tony M: I don't believe these are 'protective seals' at all, and hence I have grave doubts about the suitability of this suggested term.

Explanation:
I'm just seeking with this 'Aunt Sally' to clear up the possible ambiguity in both halves of this term.

-> No it's not! This text is talking about longitudinal joins in busbars that have to be slpit as they would otherwise be too long for shipping; nothing whatever to do with 'terminal blocks'!
