(left) ventriculogram/ventriculography

In left heart catheterization the catheter is usually first inserted into the left ventricular outflow tract (passing the aortic valve). Subsequently contrast media is injected to visualize and assess shape, size, possible wall motion abnormalities and contractility of the left ventricle and to calculate the ejection fraction. This procedure is called *Laevokardiografie* in German.

The catheter is then retracted to the coronary sinus (into the aortic root) to intubate the coronary ostia for imaging of the left and right coronary artery (in German: *Koronarangiografie*).

The entire procedure (both 'Laevokardiografie plus 'Koronarangiografie') is referred to as *Linksherzkatheteruntersuchung*.

The usual corresponding term for 'Laevokardiografie' is *ventriculography/ventriculogram*.

Note from asker:
Thanks a lot, uyuni, for your detailed explanation! I never really understood the difference (Linksherzkatheteruntersuchung vs. Koronarangiographie), but now "alles klar" thanks to you :)

levocardiography / levocardiogram

of course, laevo = left dextro = right,

I don't know much about this but I found this reference where the
topic has to do with dextro and laevo cardiograms. So I would think

"leavocariography" or "levocardiogram"...

left heart catheterization/angiography

The part of the angio concerning the left side of the heart. I don't think it has anything to do with an ECG.
