I presume Trs stands fro Trockensubstanz, but what's the proper EN term?

...e.g. here in SPCs:
"...Dry substance in a 10 ml vial made of colourless borosilicate glass, type I..."

"""Dry powder""" would be another option - though this would rather be equivalent to """Trockenpulver""" in German.

I meant prednisone in lyophilized powder form (that is what I think, if Trs = freeze-dhttp://www.fda.gov/ICECI/Inspections/InspectionGuides/ucm074... substance.. I would think that in pharmacuetical
terminology lyophilization is moe commonly used than freeze-drying. To my knowledge, they are the same process:

Yes, lyophilization = freeze-drying. However, I think in medicine / pharmacology / pharmaceuticals they tend to use "lyophilized powder form" for drugs like prednisone, cytoxan, etc..

Harald Moelzer (medical-translator)
: would be a specific form of 'dry substance' (i.e. "Lyophilisat"), e.g. see here: http://ec.europa.eu/health/documents/community-register/2006...

Harald Moelzer (medical-translator)
: 'dry weight' would be 'Trockengewicht'

Strictly speaking, you're right. However, in this particular context Trockensubstanz may mean Trockengewicht, especially since it refers to "250 mg" in the source text.
