I meant prednisone in lyophilized powder form (that is what I think, if Trs = freeze-dhttp://www.fda.gov/ICECI/Inspections/InspectionGuides/ucm074... substance.. I would think that in pharmacuetical
terminology lyophilization is moe commonly used than freeze-drying. To my knowledge, they are the same process:

Yes, lyophilization = freeze-drying. However, I think in medicine / pharmacology / pharmaceuticals they tend to use "lyophilized powder form" for drugs like prednisone, cytoxan, etc..

Strictly speaking, you're right. However, in this particular context Trockensubstanz may mean Trockengewicht, especially since it refers to "250 mg" in the source text.
