Hi

I am not sure this is the right forum to ask this question but I could not find a Word forum.

I just bought a new Windows 10 computer and put Office 2016 on it. I downloaded the Speak platform etc. and spell check for Danish and spell check works fine, but the Speak function does not read the Danish text! I write in Danish, set the proofing language to Danish, the Speak icon becomes activated when I highlight Danish text - it just does not say anything! I works fine... See more

I downloaded the Speak platform etc. and spell check for Danish and spell check works fine, but the Speak function does not read the Danish text! I write in Danish, set the proofing language to Danish, the Speak icon becomes activated when I highlight Danish text - it just does not say anything! I works fine for English - and the Danish Speak function works fine on my old Windows 8.1 computer with Word 2013. I just cannot get it to read the Danish text out loud.

Any ideas?

From what I see, my Word 2016 offers text-to-speech capabilities only in the following languages:

Chinese (Hong Kong)
Chinese (Taiwan)
Chinese (People's Republic of China)
English (United States)
English (Great Britain)
English (India)
French (France)
German (Germany)
Italian (Italy)
Japanese (Japan)
Korean (Korea)
Polish (Poland)
Portuguese (Brazil)
Russian (Russia)
Spanish (Mexico)
Spanish (... See more
From what I see, my Word 2016 offers text-to-speech capabilities only in the following languages:

Anyway, for text-to-speech I prefer to use TextAloud with IVONA or Loquendo voices, which are really excellent (much better than Microsoft). You can check at http://nextup.com and https://www.ivona.com/us/about-us/voice-portfolio/ . ▲ Collapse

Mine must be outdated then. And you still can't use TTS in Danish?
