Hi there
I am a new member and was wondering which subscription to use for paypal.com in order for clients to pay me - a personal or a business account. A business account might be the most useful but it mentions that there are some fees for electronic payments for business accounts and there is no indication as to how much these fees are. Can anyone help who has used it before?
Regards
Sarah

Go for the business one

I'd advise you to go for the business one. I find the fees just about bearable but worth it because with the personal one you can't accept credit card payments, only transfers from other Paypal balances. This isn't so attractive for clients wanting to pay with a credit card.
Good luck!

Careful with larger payments

Dear Sarah,
Paypal prevent people from linking to their fees pages, but you can find them by going to http://www.paypal.com/uk/. Just scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on the "Fees" link.
IMHO Paypal makes sense only for small-ish money transfers of below £650 or so, as your bank will only charge fixed fees for wire transfers, and Paypal has no cap on fees.

Hi Sarah,
To support Mia's point:
I also use Paypal for smaller payments (and fairly infrequently) as electronic bank transfers within the Euro zone are generally free these days, so that makes much more sense.
However Paypal is handy for small amounts.
All the best,
Amy
