Hello everybody,
I have a quick question and maybe somebody who went through the same issues can enlighten me.
For clients based in Dubai, I accept Western Union as a mode of payment. Usually, I have to say, it works quite well. However, for this particular agency, I am hitting a wall.
They wrote down "Belgium" as the destination country. However, I live in Germany. They know it very well as this is stated on my invoice.

Of course, I was not able to pick up the money. I told him, and he said that he was taking care of it. Well...I go back to the post office and again, same deal "We are sorry but we can not give you the money because you are in Germany...". My customer told me that it apparently could take a few days for the change to appear...hmmm....ok
So, today I call the customer service of Western Union, where I'm told that the destination country had not been changed and more troubling, that no order for a change had been made.
Has it ever happened to somebody else? and if yes, what did you do? Do you know if the sender receives a new slip when they change a destination country?
I am just starting to be very frustrated about all this...

I am not sure if you can change the destination country in the WU system. I recently made some mistake in the WU transfer and I learned that once the transaction is submitted no data can be changed. The sender has to cancel the transaction and make a new transfer with the correct data. In this case it was my fault so they didn't refund the initial transaction fee but otherwise it was a smooth procedure. If it is the case, your client has to take the responsibility.
