Seeking medical translation resources

A friend’s daughter wishing to specialise as a medical translator has asked me to recommend any dictionaries, databases, glossaries, stale manuals etc that I normally use in medical translation and revision/proofing projects. However, although I do have a bash at it from time to time, medical translation is not my speciality and I don't have any specific dictionaries etc for the medical area. I can definitely suggest some useful resources, but the language pair(s) would help narrow it down

As Helen said, you need to tell us what languages this person wants to work in. This is VERY vague ... more clarity and precision will bring you better information.

Yes, it should have been style manuals (although some may indeed be "stale"). I was busy working, posted in a hurry and the query is on someone else's behalf...

I agree that Google and Pubmed are very useful. I also recommend using monolingual medical dictionaries. I don't do Spanish, but for English ones I suggest joining a UK library that subscribes to Credo reference. It includes a great collection of medical dictionaries that you can access from anywhere through your library.
