Hello all!
I'm currently working on a translation of a book I love which has been published two years ago in the UK and not translated into Italian yet.
I've been in touch with many Italian publishers but they don't seem interested.

Can anyone shed some light on the matter, please?
You seem to be asking two questions.
1. Publication by others
I have worked with UK and Italian publishers, for example on an English-language edition of an Italian book, translated by me. The Italian publisher negotiated with the UK publisher and they agreed the terms between them.
In my opinion the correct route to take would be to get the UK publisher to find an Italian publisher of their own choosing (who may be one recommended by you) and negotiate an agreement, if they are interested in doing so.
