Ο Μητροπολιτικός Ιερός Ναός του Αγίου Νικολάου, βρίσκεται στην κεντρική πλατεία της πόλης του Πύργου. Θεμελιώθηκε στις 19/10/1897 από τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Αθηνών και πάσης Ελλάδος. Στην ίδια θέση προϋπήρχε Ιερός Ναός, που είχε καταστραφεί το 1886 από ισχυρό σεισμό. Για να καλυφθούν οι λατρευτικές ανάγκες των ενοριτών κατασκευάστηκε αρχικά ξύλινος Ναός στο λόφο του Επαρχείου. Ο υπάρχων ναός εγκαινιάστηκε το 1909 από τον Μητροπολίτη Δαμασκηνό. Στον Ιερό Ναό φυλάσσονται σημαντικά ιερά κειμήλια με κυριότερα: Ένα Αντιμήνσιο του 1837 και ένα του 1908, ένα Αρτοφόριο δωρεά του Αρχιεπισκόπου Δαμασκηνού με χρονολογία 1911, Σταυρός και εξαπτέρυγα του 1911, τα καντήλια του τέμπλου δωρεά του Μητροπολίτη Ηλείας Γερμανού Α΄(1899-1982), ένα Ιερό Ευαγγέλιο του 1946 κ.α.
Ο Ιερός Ναός δεν είναι Αγιογραφημένος. Η μεν στέγη του μεσαίου κλίτους είναι ξύλινη, χωρίς αγιογράφηση, τα δε τύμπανα των πλαγίων κλιτών μετά την τελευταία ανακαίνιση του Ναού έχουν βαφεί με το μπλε επιβλητικό βαθύ χρώμα του ουρανού Ο Κυρίως Ναός φωτίζεταιτόσο από το φυσικό φωτισμό των πολλών παραθύρων, όσο και από τους πολλούς πολυελαίους, οι οποίοι κάνουν τον Ναό να λάμπει όταν φωταγωγείται.
Ξεχωριστή θέση όμως κατέχει στην αψίδα του Ιερού το ψηφιδωτό της Παναγιάς μας, της «Πλατυτέρας των Ουρανών», που εικονίζει την Τιμιωτέρα των Χερουβίμ ένθρονη, κρατώντας στην αγκαλιά της τον «Μονογενή Υιό και Λόγο του Θεού», τον Κύριό μας Ιησού Χριστό.
Χαρακτηριστικά της ναοδομίας του Ναού
Ο Ιερός ναός είναι τρίκλιτος Βασιλική χωρίς τρούλο. Το μεσαίο κλίτος είναι αφιερωμένο στον Άγιο Νικόλαο και τα πλαϊνά κλίτη το Βόρειο - αριστερό στον Απόστολο Ανδρέα το δε Νότιο- δεξιό στον ιερομάρτυρα Άγιο Ελευθέριο.
Είναι λιθόκτιστος με συνολική επιφάνεια κάλυψης 870,21 τετραγωνικά μέτρα.
Η εξωτερική μορφή του Ναού χαρακτηρίζεται από δύο επίπεδα, το κεντρικό υπερυψωμένο κλίτος και τα δύο πλάγια χαμηλότερα. Η Δυτική όψη του ναού διακρίνεται από τα δύο περίτεχνα καμπαναριά και το Δυτικό αέτωμα στο κεντρικό κλίτος, και από την κεντρική είσοδο του Προνάου που στηρίζεται πάνω σε τρία τοξωτά ανοίγματα. Η Ανατολική όψη διακρίνεται από τις τρεις προεξοχές που καταλήγουν σε αντίστοιχες κόγχες του Ιερού.
Εσωτερικά ο ναός αποτελείται από τον κυρίως ναό, το μεσαίο κλίτος και τα δύο πλάγια, το υπερυψωμένο ιερό, και δύο γυναικωνίτες στο δυτικό μέρος του Ναού, σε διαφορετικά καθ’ ύψος επίπεδα, πάνω από τον αντίστοιχο χώρο του προνάου.
Τα τρία κλίτη διαχωρίζονται με δύο τοξωτές κιονοστοιχίες των 6 κυκλικών κιόνων από πεντελικό μάρμαρο. Σε όλα τα μαρμάρινα εσωτερικά υποστυλώματα των δύο κύριων κλιτών υπάρχουν κιονόκρανα κορινθιακού ρυθμού.
Ο εσωτερικός διάκοσμος του ναού παρουσιάζει ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον και χαρακτηρίζεται από έντονη χρήση του μαρμάρου τόσο στο τέμπλο όσο στον άμβωνα και στον επισκοπικό θρόνο, στα ιερά αναλόγια, στα προσκυνητάρια του μεσαίου κλίτους, στις δαπεδοστρώσεις από λευκές και γκρι μαρμάρινες πλάκες, γραμμικά διακοσμητικά κορνιζόματα στις πλευρές του κεντρικού κλίτους και σε όλα τα τόξα και τους θόλους τις έντεχνες προστατευτικές μεταλλικές κατασκευές τον χρωματισμό και τον ενιαίο διάχυτο φυσικό φωτισμό.
Ο Ιερός Ναός του Αγίου Νικολάου, για την πόλη του Πύργου είναι ένα γεγονός Ιστορικό και όχι μόνον, αλλά και δείγμα της θρησκευτικής ευλάβειας των πιστών προγόνων μας, καλλιτέχνημα αρχιτεκτονικής του τέλους του 19ου αιώνος και αρχές του 20ου αιώνος, γι αυτό αξίζει κανείς να τον επισκεφτεί και τόσο να κατανυγεί, όσο και να τον θαυμάσει από κοντά.
Translation - German KURZE GESCHICHTE DER METROPOLITANKIRCHE DES HEILIGEN NIKOLAUS VON PYRGOS
Die St. Nikolaus Metropolitankirche befindet sich auf dem zentralen Platz der Stadt Pyrgos. Sie wurde am 19. 10. 1897 vom Erzbischof von Athen und der Kirche von Griechenland gegründet. An der gleichen Stelle befand sich früher eine Kirche, die 1886 durch ein starkes Erdbeben zerstört wurde. Um den gottesdienstlichen Bedürfnissen der Gemeindemitglieder gerecht zu werden, wurde zunächst eine Holzkirche auf dem Hügel der Eparchie errichtet. Die bestehende Kirche wurde 1909 von Metropolit Damaskinos geweiht. In der Heiligen Kirche werden bedeutende heilige Reliquien aufbewahrt, darunter ein Altartuch von 1837 und eins von 1908, ein von Erzbischof Damaskinos gestifteter Tabernakel von 1911, ein Kreuz und Cheruben von 1911, die Öllämpchen der Ikonostase, die von Metropolit Germain Ilias A. (1899-1982) gestiftet wurden, ein Heiliges Evangelium von 1946 usw.
Im Heiligen Tempel befinden sich keine Heiligenbilder. Das Dach des mittleren Langschiffs ist aus Holz, ohne Hagiographie, während die Trommeln der Seitenschiffe nach der letzten Renovierung der Kirche in der imposanten tiefblauen Farbe des Himmels gestrichen wurden. Die Hauptkirche wird sowohl durch das natürliche Licht, das durch die vielen Fenster einfällt, als auch durch die zahlreichen Kronleuchter erhellt, die die Kirche zum Leuchten bringen.
Einen besonderen Platz in der Apsis nimmt das Mosaik der Maria ein, der "Muttergottes vom Zeichen", das die thronende Mutter der Barmherzigkeit der Cherubim darstellt, die das "Wort Gottes" und den “eingeborenen Sohn“, unseren Herrn Jesus Christus, in ihren Armen hält.
Merkmale des Kirchengebäudes
Die Kirche ist eine dreischiffige Basilika ohne Kuppel. Das Mittelschiff ist dem Heiligen Nikolaus gewidmet, die Seitenschiffe, das Nordschiff - links - dem Apostel Andreas und das Südschiff - rechts - dem Märtyrer Eleftherios.
Es ist aus Stein gebaut und hat eine Gesamtfläche von 870,21 Quadratmetern.
Die äußere Form der Kirche ist durch zwei Ebenen gekennzeichnet, das zentrale, erhöhte Kirchenschiff und die beiden unteren Seitenschiffe. Die Westseite der Kirche zeichnet sich durch die beiden verzierten Glockentürme und den Westgiebel des Mittelschiffs sowie durch den zentralen Eingang der Vorhalle aus, der auf drei Bogenöffnungen ruht. Die Ostseite zeichnet sich durch drei Vorsprünge aus, die in entsprechenden Nischen des Heiligtums enden.
Das Innere des Tempels besteht aus dem Hauptschiff, dem Mittelschiff und den beiden Seitenschiffen, dem erhöhten Altarraum und zwei Frauenschiffen im westlichen Teil des Tempels, die sich auf verschiedenen Ebenen über dem entsprechenden Bereich des Altarraums befinden.
Die drei Seitenschiffe sind durch zwei gewölbte Kolonnaden mit 6 runden Säulen aus pentelischem Marmor getrennt. Die Marmorsäulen im Inneren aller Hauptschiffe sind mit Kapitellen im korinthischen Stil versehen.
Die Innenausstattung der Kirche ist von besonderem Interesse und zeichnet sich durch die intensive Verwendung von Marmor sowohl im Altarraum als auch in der Kanzel und im Bischofsthron, in den sakralen Altären, in den Schreinen des Kirchenschiffs, in den Fußböden aus weißen und grauen Marmorplatten, in den linearen Zierrahmen an den Seiten des Mittelschiffs und in allen Bögen und Kuppeln, in den kunstvollen Schutzkonstruktionen aus Metall, in der Farbgebung und in der gleichmäßigen, diffusen natürlichen Beleuchtung aus.
Die Heilige Kirche des heiligen Nikolaus ist für die Stadt Pyrgos nicht nur ein historisches Ereignis, sondern auch ein Beispiel für die religiöse Frömmigkeit unserer gläubigen Vorfahren, ein architektonisches Kunstwerk des späten 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert. Es lohnt sich, sie zu besuchen, sich dort der Inbrunst seines Glaubens hinzugeben und sie zu bewundern.

Περίληψη
"Η παρούσα έρευνα αφορά στην παρουσίαση των απόψεων των εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθµιας ιδιωτικής παιδείας, γενικού κλάδου ή ειδικότητας, για τον βαθµό αυτονοµίας τους και το κατά πόσο αυτός επηρεάζεται από τον παρεµβατικό ρόλο των γονέων των µαθητών τους. Έγινε διερεύνηση των εννοιών της «αυτονοµίας», «αυτονοµίας του εκπαιδευτικού» και «αυτονοµίας του διδακτικού έργου» και του τρόπου µε τον οποίο η εµπλοκή του οικογενειακού περιβάλλοντος των µαθητών πιθανώς επηρεάζει τον βαθµό αυτονοµίας του εκπαιδευτικού.
Υιοθετείται η ποιοτική προσέγγιση µεθοδολογίας µέσω ηµι-δοµηµένων συνεντεύξεων. Το δείγµα της έρευνας αποτέλεσαν είκοσι εκπαιδευτικοί και ακολουθήθηκε η θεµατική ανάλυση των δεδοµένων σε θεµατικές κατηγορίες και υποκατηγορίες. Από τα αποτελέσµατα της έρευνας προέκυψε µία ποικιλία περιοριστικών παραγόντων για την αυτονοµία των εκπαιδευτικών και του διδακτικού τους έργου ενώ απαριθµήθηκαν µερικοί από τους τοµείς εµπλοκής των κηδεµόνων των µαθητών. Καταγράφηκε, επίσης, η επιθυµία των εκπαιδευτικών για απεµπλοκή των κηδεµόνων των µαθητών από την αξιολόγησή τους. Τέλος, προτείνονται κάποιες αλλαγές που απαιτούνται για τη βελτίωση της θέσης του εκπαιδευτικού στο ευρύτερο πλαίσιο του διδακτικού έργου της ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης."
ΕΙΣΑΓΩΓΗ
Το σχολείο γενικά θεωρείται ότι αποτελεί µία µικρογραφία της κοινωνίας. Άτοµα µε διαφορά στην καταγωγή και στο χρώµα δέρµατος, αλλόγλωσσα και αλλόθρησκα, άτοµα από υψηλά κοινωνικά στρώµατα αλλά και από µεσαία ή χαµηλά, καθηµερινά αλληλεπιδρούν στις σχολικές αίθουσες (Μανούσου, 2017). Οι Ευρωπαϊκές χώρες εκχωρούν όλο και περισσότερη αυτονοµία στους εκπαιδευτικούς τους (Ευρυδίκη, 2008), ενώ στο ελληνικό εκπαιδευτικό σύστηµα κάτι τέτοιο δεν υφίσταται λόγω του συγκεντρωτικού και συντηρητικού χαρακτήρα της παιδείας στα σχολεία (Πασιαρδής, 2004). Οι γονείς έχουν την τάση να επεµβαίνουν στη ζωή των παιδιών τους ως µαθητές και κατ’ επέκταση στα αµιγώς µαθησιακά ζητήµατα, τα οποία άπτονται των εκπαιδευτικών (Comer & Haynes, 1991). Κάποιες φορές αυτό κρίνεται αναγκαίο. Ωστόσο, πολλές φορές, αποτέλεσµα αυτής της επέµβασης είναι η µείωση της αυτονοµίας του εκπαιδευτικού στο διδακτικό του έργο (Hawes & Plourde, 2005). Οι γονείς θέλουν να έχουν τον πρώτο και τον τελευταίο λόγο στην εκπαίδευση των παιδιών τους ακόµα και µέσα στην τάξη υποβαθµίζοντας τον ρόλο του εκπαιδευτικού, τον οποίο οι ίδιοι πληρώνουν στην ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση (Ψάλτη & Γαβριηλίδου, 1996).
Τα συµπεράσµατα της παρούσας ποιοτικής έρευνας εξήχθησαν αποκλειστικά από τις προσωπικές απόψεις των προαναφερθέντων προσώπων και λόγω του µικρού αριθµού του δείγµατος, η γενίκευση των αποτελεσµάτων της έρευνας είναι περιορισµένη.
ΚΕΦΑΛΑΙΟ 1
ΑΥΤΟΝΟΜΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΕΚΠΑΙ∆ΕΥΤΙΚΟΥ ΕΡΓΟΥ ΚΑΙ Ι∆ΙΩΤΙΚΗ ΕΚΠΑΙ∆ΕΥΣΗ
1.1 Η έννοια της αυτονοµίας
Όπως επισηµαίνει και ο Wolff (1970) η αυτονοµία ενέχει δύο συνιστώσες, την αντίληψη και τη συµπεριφορά. Όταν οι πεποιθήσεις και τα πιστεύω του ατόµου έχουν διαµορφωθεί βάσει πνεύµατος ελευθερίας, αυτό θα αντικατοπτρίζεται και στη συµπεριφορά του καθώς θα ενεργεί ανάλογα.
Ο Raz (1986) αναγνωρίζει στην έννοια της αυτονοµίας την πολιτική ελευθερία και την προσωπική αξία της ηθικής της, µε αποτέλεσµα την ατοµική ευηµερία και την τεράστια αξία της ατοµικής βούλησης (Marshall, 1994). Εν συνεχεία, το προσωπικό συµφέρον διαφέρει από την προσωπική ευεξία, η οποία επιτυγχάνεται µε τον καθορισµό υψηλής σκοποθεσίας του ανθρώπου που του χαρίζει ευηµερία (Bellamy, 1988).
1.2 Η αυτονοµία του εκπαιδευτικού έργου
Ως εκπαιδευτικό έργο ορίζεται το διδακτικό έργο του εκπαιδευτικού στα πλαίσια ενός σχολικού συγκροτήµατος µε το αποτέλεσµα αυτού να διαφαίνεται στη λειτουργία του σχολείου (Παπακωνσταντίνου, 1993). Ο εκπαιδευτικός έχει παράλληλα τον ρόλο του ατόµου που εµψυχώνει τον µαθητή να σκέφτεται, να δρα και να αλληλεπιδρά µαζί του ενώ παράλληλα, εκείνος αποτελεί τον ενεργό δέκτης του διδακτικού έργου (Νοµικού, 2006). Η εκπαιδευτική κοινότητα αποδέχεται τον ορισµό του Holec (1981) που αναφέρεται στο δικαίωµα της λήψης αποφάσεων και ελευθερίας στις προτιµήσεις του εκπαιδευτικού σχετικά µε τον τρόπο υλοποίησης του διδακτικού του έργου και της εφαρµογής εποπτικών µέσων µε την ενεργό συµµετοχή όλων των παρευρισκοµένων εντός της αίθουσας. Η αξιολόγηση του εκπαιδευτικού έργου αποτελείται από ένα συνονθύλευµα των προγραµµάτων σπουδών, της υλικοτεχνικής υποδοµής του σχολικού χώρου, τη συµµετοχή στο σύλλογο γονέων και κηδεµόνων κι της µεθοδολογίας αυτού (Benson, 2001).
1.3 Η αυτονοµία του εκπαιδευτικού στο διδακτικό έργο
Κάθε εκπαιδευτικός ανάλογα µε το εργασιακό του περιβάλλον έχει διαφορετική αντίληψη της αυτονοµίας διότι την ασκεί και στον αντίστοιχο βαθµό που του επιτρέπεται (Little, 1990). Η αυτονοµία του εκπαιδευτικού βασίζεται στην ανεξαρτητοποίησή του σε συνδυασµό µε την αποµόνωση και τη µοναχικότητά του από τους συναδέλφους του και τα διοικητικά µέλη του σχολείου (Hargreaves, 1994).
Ο ορισµός της Short (1994) µιλάει για την ελευθερία του εκπαιδευτικού εντός των ορίων του σχολικού χώρου και πιο συγκεκριµένα της τάξης διδασκαλίας σε θέµατα οργάνωσης, διαχείρισης και χρήσης των εποπτικών υλικών του µαθήµατος. Η εξειδικευµένη γνώση στον τοµέα του διαµορφώνει αναπόφευκτα και το κύρος του.
Φυσικό επακόλουθο των παραπάνω αποτελεί και η αναγνώριση της αξίας του εκπαιδευτικού από τους υπόλοιπους συναδέλφους και τη διεύθυνση του σχολείου που εργάζεται ούτως ώστε να δικαιούται να λαµβάνει αποφάσεις και σε ευρύτερα σχολικά ζητήµατα (Pearson & Moomaw, 2005).
Σύµφωνα µε τον Maslach (1993, σ. 20), η έξαρση συσσωρευµένων συναισθηµάτων οδηγεί µε µαθηµατική ακρίβεια στην ψυχολογική εξάντληση, µε άµεσο αντίκτυπο στο νευρολογικό σύστηµα του ανθρώπινου οργανισµού. Ο Bandura (1997) υπογραµµίζει ότι οι στόχοι, οι στρατηγικές και τα κίνητρα που υπερνικούν τις δυσκολίες έρχονται ως απόρροια της µαθησιακής εξέλιξης και επηρεάζουν τη συµπεριφορά του.
Η ιδιωτική και η δηµόσια εκπαίδευση στην Ελλάδα
Στη χώρα µας το εκπαιδευτικό σύστηµα διαµορφώνεται αναλόγως από το εκάστοτε κυβερνητικό σχήµα και αρµόδιο σε εκπαιδευτικά θέµατα είναι το Υπουργείο Παιδείας, Έρευνας και Θρησκευµάτων (Υ.Π.Ε.Θ.) µε κυρίαρχο χαρακτηριστικό της να είναι η πυραµοειδής και ιεραρχηµένη διάρθρωση της δοµής του (Κόντης κ.ά., 2007: 1388). Ο χαρακτήρας της ελληνικής εκπαίδευσης είναι γραµµικός και συγκεντρωτικός.
Η εκπαίδευση διακρίνεται σε ιδιωτική και δηµόσια µε ραγδαία ανάπτυξη της πρώτης συγκριτικά µε τη δεύτερη. Τα ιδιωτικά εκπαιδευτήρια στη χώρα µας υπάγονται κι αυτά στο Υπουργείο Παιδείας, Έρευνας και Θρησκευµάτων (Υ.Π.Ε.Θ) όπως και η δηµόσια εκπαίδευση. Ο έλεγχος στον ιδιωτικό τοµέα έγκειται αναφορικά µε το διδακτικό προσωπικό, τις κτιριακές εγκαταστάσεις και τον αριθµό τάξεων, τµηµάτων και των µαθητών αυτών (Ευρωπαϊκή επιτροπή, 2008). Επίσης, διδάσκονται τα ίδια ελληνόγλωσσα µαθήµατα µε µεγαλύτερη έµφαση στα ξενόγλωσσα και στις παρεχόµενες δραστηριότητες.

ΕΜΠΛΟΚΗ ΓΟΝΕΩΝ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΚΠΑΙ∆ΕΥΣΗ Ι∆ΙΩΤΙΚΟΥ ΤΟΜΕΑ
2.1 Παράγοντες εµπλοκής γονέων στην εκπαίδευση ιδιωτικού τοµέα
Τα πρωταρχικά στοιχεία που ενστερνίζεται ένα παιδί είναι ο σεβασµός και η κατανόηση. Οι µετα-αναλύσεις των ερευνών για τις στρατηγικές για υψηλότερες εκπαιδευτικές επιδόσεις οδηγούν στην εξέταση τριών τύπων γονεϊκής βοήθειας. Ο πρώτος τύπος αναφέρεται στον τρόπο διαπαιδαγώγησης των γονέων στα παιδιά τους µέσω των εξωσχολικών επιµορφωτικών προγραµµάτων που ακολουθούν (π.χ. επισκέψεις σε µουσεία, βιβλιοθήκες, εκπαιδευτικά βιβλία). Ο δεύτερος τύπος είναι η συµµετοχή των γονέων στη διοίκηση του σχολείου ή µέσω του εθελοντισµού και της επικοινωνίας µε το εκπαιδευτικό προσωπικό και τέλος, ο τρίτος τύπος είναι ο σχεδιασµός της επαγγελµατικής σταδιοδροµίας των παιδιών βάσει των φιλοδοξιών και προσδοκιών αυτών για τους απογόνους τους (Hill & Tyson, 2009).
Όσο περισσότερο µορφωµένοι είναι οι γονείς τόσο µεγαλώνει και η επιθυµία τους για την ενίσχυση του κοινωνικού τους κεφαλαίου µέσω των τέκνων τους και διπλασιάζεται η συµµετοχική τους δράση στο σπίτι σχετικά µε την σχολική προετοιµασία (Hill & Tyson, 2009). Στον αντίποδα, βρίσκονται οι γονείς που προέρχονται από τα χαµηλά κοινωνικοοικονοµικά στρώµατα και οι µειονότητες (Reynolds, 1992).
ΚΕΦΑΛΑΙΟ 3 ΜΕΘΟ∆ΟΛΟΓΙΑ
3.1 Ο σκοπός της έρευνας
Η παρούσα εργασία έχει ως κυρίαρχο στόχο να διερευνήσει τις απόψεις των εκπαιδευτικών ιδιωτικού τοµέα της Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης σχετικά µε τον βαθµό αυτονοµίας που έχουν στο διδακτικό τους έργο και τον ρόλο που διαδραµατίζουν οι γονείς των µαθητών τους στη διαµόρφωση αυτού. Πιο συγκεκριµένα, οι στόχοι διατυπώνονται ως εξής:
1) Η διερεύνηση των απόψεων των εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης του ιδιωτικού τοµέα για τον βαθµό αυτονοµίας του διδακτικού έργου.
2) Η καταγραφή των αντιλήψεων των εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθµιας ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης για τον ρόλο των γονέων στη διαµόρφωση του πλαισίου αυτονοµίας του διδακτικού έργου.
Η αναγκαιότητα της διεξαγωγής της παρούσας έρευνας καταδεικνύεται από τη βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση. Κατόπιν της εξαγωγής των συµπερασµάτων από το δείγµα των συµµετεχόντων, η έρευνα αναµένεται να συµβάλλει στο να ακουστεί η «φωνή» των εκπαιδευτικών σε ιδιωτικά εκπαιδευτήρια για τη διεκδίκηση του µέγιστου βαθµού αυτονοµίας τους στο διδακτικό τους έργο και την επίτευξη µιας αρµονικής συνεργατικής δράσης µε τους γονείς µε στόχο την παροχή υψηλής ποιότητας εκπαίδευσης στους µαθητές.
3.2 Τα ερευνητικά ερωτήµατα
Τα ερευνητικά ερωτήµατα της παρούσας έρευνας καταγράφονται ως εξής:
1) Ποιες είναι οι απόψεις των εκπαιδευτικών στην Πρωτοβάθµια εκπαίδευση του ιδιωτικού τοµέα αναφορικά µε τον βαθµό αυτονοµίας που έχουν στο διδακτικό τους έργο;
2) Ποιες είναι οι αντιλήψεις των εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθµιας ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης για τον ρόλο των γονέων στη διαµόρφωση του πλαισίου της αυτονοµίας του διδακτικού τους έργου;
3.3 Η µέθοδος της έρευνας και οι περιορισµοί της
Σύµφωνα µε την Παρασκευοπούλου- Κόλλια (2008) η ποιοτική µέθοδος αποτελεί τον πληρέστερο τρόπο να συγκεντρωθούν και να επεξεργαστούν πληροφορίες και δεδοµένα που αφορούν την καθηµερινή ζωή των συµµετεχόντων σε µία έρευνα αν και υπάρχουν πολλές εκ διαµέτρου αντίθετες απόψεις.
Οι περιορισµοί µίας ποιοτικής έρευνας έγκεινται στα παρακάτω στοιχεία (Braun & Clarke, 2006· Lincon & Guba, 1985 όπ. αναφ. στο Σαραφίδου, 2011: 84- 87 & στο Τσιώλης, 2014: 380 -382· Ίσαρη & Πουρκός, 2015: 124- 126):
1) Η έρευνα θα πρέπει να διακατέχεται από αξιοπιστία (credibility) του δείγµατος.
2) Η δυνατότητα γενίκευσής της (transferability).
3) Εν προκειµένω, χρειάστηκε διευκρίνιση ορισµένων ερωτήσεων στους συνεντευξιαζόµενους. Αυτό αποτελεί τη φερεγγυότητα (dependability) της ποιοτικής έρευνας.
4) Η επιβεβαίωση των αποτελεσµάτων της εκάστοτε έρευνας και από άλλους ερευνητές(confirmability).
3.3.1 Οι συµµετέχοντες στην έρευνα
Οι συµµετέχοντες στην παρούσα έρευνα επιλέχθηκαν κατόπιν τήρησης αυστηρών προδιαγραφών ούτως ώστε να πληρούν τα αναγκαία χαρακτηριστικά. Προηγήθηκε της συνέντευξης, η αναλυτική ενηµέρωσή τους για τον σκοπό της έρευνας και τα στοιχεία της ερευνήτριας τόσο προφορικά όσο και γραπτά υπογράφοντας έντυπο συναίνεσης.
Συγκεκριµένα, στην ποιοτική αυτή έρευνα συµµετείχαν συνολικά 20 άτοµα. Οι συµµετέχοντες είναι όλοι εκπαιδευτικοί στην Πρωτοβάθµια εκπαίδευση στον ιδιωτικό τοµέα. Οι 14 εξ αυτών είναι εκπαιδευτικοί (ΠΕ70) κατέχοντες δική τους τάξη (Σ…ΕΚΠ/Τ) ενώ οι υπόλοιποι έξι (6) είναι εκπαιδευτικοί ειδικοτήτων όπως λ.χ. θεατρικής αγωγής, φυσικής αγωγής, αγγλικών, γερµανικών (Σ….-ΕΚΠ/ΕΙ∆). Στο σύνολό τους είναι κάτοικοι αστικών περιοχών του νοµού Αττικής, Θεσσαλονίκης, ∆υτικής Αχαΐας.
Οι εκπαιδευτικοί Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης του ιδιωτικού τοµέα απάντησαν σε πρώτο στάδιο σε ερωτήσεις αναφορικά µε τα δηµογραφικά χαρακτηριστικά τους.
Πιο αναλυτικά, στην πρώτη ερώτηση για τα χρόνια προϋπηρεσίας τους στην εκπαίδευση γενικά, τα δώδεκα (12) από τα συνολικά είκοσι (20) άτοµα έχουν που δουλεύουν από ένα (1) έως και έξι (6) χρόνια µε τα περισσότερα να εργάζονται τέσσερα (4) έτη. Σηµειώνεται ότι τα εννιά (9) άτοµα είναι εκπαιδευτικοί µε δική τους τάξη (ΠΕ70) και οι εναποµείναντες τρεις (3) είναι εκπαιδευτικοί ειδικοτήτων όπως φυσικής αγωγής και ξένων γλωσσών. Οι άλλοι τέσσερις (4) ερωτηθέντες εκπαιδευτικοί απάντησαν πως δουλεύουν από επτά (7) έως και εννιά (9) χρόνια στον χώρο της εκπαίδευσης εκ των οποίων οι τρεις (3) είναι Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης (ΠΕ70) και ο ένας (1) είναι εκπαιδευτικός ξένων γλωσσών. Τέλος, οι υπόλοιποι τέσσερις (4) εκπαιδευτικοί ασκούν το επάγγελµά τους από δέκα (10) έως και είκοσι (20) χρόνια µε ισοδυναµία µεταξύ γενικής εκπαίδευσης και ειδικότητας.
Στη δεύτερη δηµογραφική ερώτηση για το πόσα έτη εργάζονται στην παρούσα σχολική µονάδα στην οποία και διεξήχθη η συνέντευξη, οι τέσσερις εκπαιδευτικοί προσελήφθησαν το προηγούµενο διδακτικό έτος δηλαδή βρίσκονται εκεί έναν χρόνο (οι τρεις είναι εκπαιδευτικοί Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης και ένας εκπαιδευτικός είναι ειδικότητας), οι τρεις δουλεύουν από δύο χρόνια (στο σύνολο τους είναι εκπαιδευτικοί Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης), οι άλλοι δύο εργάζονται τρία χρόνια (ως εκπαιδευτικοί Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης). Παρακάτω, από ένας εκπαιδευτικός εργάζεται στο ίδιο σχολείο τέσσερα έτη (εκπαιδευτικός Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης), πέντε έτη (εκπαιδευτικός Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης), επτά έτη (εκπαιδευτικός Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης), οχτώ έτη (εκπαιδευτικός Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης), 15 έτη (εκπαιδευτικός ξένης γλώσσας). Ιδιαίτερη έµφαση δίνεται στο γεγονός ότι µόνο τέσσερις εκπαιδευτικοί Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης ή ειδικότητας από τους ερωτηθέντες παραµένουν στο ίδιο σχολείο για έξι έτη και δύο εκπαιδευτικοί για εννιά έτη εργασίας.
Στην τρίτη και τελευταία ερώτηση των δηµογραφικών χαρακτηριστικών για τη διερεύνηση της επιλογής ή όχι του συγκεκριµένου σχολείου από τους εκπαιδευτικούς Πρωτοβάθµιας ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης, οι απαντήσεις που ελήφθησαν ήταν οι ακόλουθες:
Θετικά αποκρίθηκαν οι δεκαέξι (16) ερωτηθέντες εκπαιδευτικοί και αρνητικά απάντησαν οι τέσσερις εξ αυτών. Αναλυτικότερα, έντεκα είναι οι εκπαιδευτικοί Πρωτοβάθµιας εκπαίδευσης και πέντε οι εκπαιδευτικοί ειδικοτήτων, οι οποίοι επέλεξαν το συγκεκριµένο σχολείο για να εργαστούν ενώ παράλληλα δεν ήταν επιλογή των τριών εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθµιας παιδείας και του ενός εκπαιδευτικού ειδικότητας.
3.3.2 Το ερευνητικό εργαλείο της έρευνας
Το ερευνητικό εργαλείο που χρησιµοποιήθηκε είναι η µέθοδος της ηµι-δοµηµένης συνέντευξης, µε ορισµένες ερωτήσεις και µε διατύπωση νέων σχετικών του θέµατος που προέκυπταν κατά τη διάρκεια της συζήτησης. Οι ερωτήσεις ήταν εστιασµένες στη διερεύνηση των απόψεων των εκπαιδευτικών που συµµετείχαν µε βάση τα ερευνητικά ερωτήµατα για τον βαθµό αυτονοµίας του διδακτικού τους έργου και τον ρόλο των γονέων στη διαµόρφωση του πλαισίου αυτού.
Το περιεχόµενο των ερωτήσεων της συνέντευξης έχει προκύψει από τη βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση του υπό διερεύνηση θέµατος και είναι ελεγµένο τόσο από την ερευνήτρια όσο και από την επιβλέπουσα καθηγήτρια.
3.4 Ανάλυση ερευνητικών δεδοµένων
Με τη διεκπεραίωση όλων των συνεντεύξεων, της µαγνητοφώνησης και της αποµαγνητοφώνησή τους, υλοποιήθηκε η οργάνωση και η εξαγωγή θεµατικών κατηγοριών και υποκατηγοριών µε την απαραίτητη επεξεργασία των πρωτογενών αυτών δεδοµένων προκειµένου να δοµηθούν βάσει των ερωτηµάτων και του σκοπού της ποιοτικής αυτής έρευνας χωρίς τη χρήση κάποιου λογισµικού (Hahn, 2008). Προτιµήθηκε η µέθοδος «ανάλυσης περιεχοµένου» και µε την τεχνική της µικροανάλυσης δηλαδή η «γραµµή προς γραµµή» ανάλυση του περιεχοµένου των ερωτήσεων των συνεντεύξεων (Strauss & Corbin, 1996).
Προέκυψε έτσι η αρχική οµαδοποίηση του περιεχοµένου των ερωτήσεων του οδηγού συνεντεύξεων. Πιο συγκεκριµένα, η πρώτη ευρεία οµάδα αφορά τις γενικές αντιλήψεις των εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθµιας ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης σχετικά µε τον όρο «αυτονοµία» και την αυτονοµία στο διδακτικό έργο και τους παράγοντες που την επηρεάζουν στον χώρο που εργάζονται σήµερα και η δεύτερη στον ρόλο των γονέων στον βαθµό αυτονοµίας των εκπαιδευτικών στην ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση. Η ύπαρξη των οµάδων αυτών ήταν ιδιαίτερα βοηθητική στην ταξινόµηση του πρωτογενούς υλικού και στην ανάδειξη των σχέσεων ακόµα κι αν δεν ανταποκρίνονται στις αντίστοιχες πλευρές της πραγµατικότητας (Silverman, 2000).
Η µέθοδος κωδικοποίησης, η οποία επιλέχτηκε από την ερευνήτρια είναι η Θεµατική οµαδοποίηση των ερωτήσεων στις συνεντεύξεις (Richards, 2005).
Παρακάτω ακολουθεί ο σχολιασµός των καταγραφέντων δεδοµένων έχοντας την αναγκαία τεκµηρίωση από τα λεγόµενα των εκπαιδευτικών που συµµετείχαν.
ΚΕΦΑΛΑΙΟ 4 ΑΠΟΤΕΛΕΣΜΑΤΑ
Αναλυτικότερα ως πρώτη Θεµατική Κατηγορία (1η ΘΚ) είναι «Τα κριτήρια επιλογής του δηµόσιου τοµέα έναντι του ιδιωτικού». Η κατηγορία αυτή αντιστοιχεί στο πρώτο (1ο) ερευνητικό ερώτηµα. Από τις απαντήσεις τους προέκυψαν οι εξής έξι (6) Θεµατικές Υποκατηγορίες (ΘΥΠΚ): Η ελευθερία της διδασκαλίας, η λιγότερη πίεση και το ευέλικτο ωράριο εργασίας (1η ΘΥΠΚ). Η επαγγελµατική ανέλιξη (2η ΘΥΠΚ). Η επαγγελµατική µονιµότητα (3η ΘΥΠΚ). Η αβεβαιότητα για το επαγγελµατικό µέλλον στο δηµόσιο (4η ΘΥΠΚ) και ο τόπος διορισµού (5η ΘΥΠΚ). Ως έκτη (6η) Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (ΘΥΠΚ) αναγράφεται η µισθολογική ισοδυναµία του δηµόσιου µε τον ιδιωτικό τοµέα.
Η δεύτερη Θεµατική Κατηγορία (2η ΘΚ) είναι «Η έννοια της αυτονοµίας γενικά», η οποία απαντά στο 1ο ερευνητικό ερώτηµα. Εν προκειµένω, οι Θεµατικές Υποκατηγορίες (ΘΥΠΚ) είναι τρεις (3): Η ελευθερία επιλογών, αποφάσεων, δράσεων χωρίς περιορισµούς και ελέγχους (1η ΘΥΠΚ), ως χαρακτηριστικό ανεξαρτησίας (2η ΘΥΠΚ) και τέλος, της αποδίδουν το χαρακτηριστικό της δεξιότητας της παιδικής ηλικίας µε έναρξη αυτής από πολύ µικρή ηλικία.
Η τρίτη Θεµατική Κατηγορία (3η ΘΚ) είναι «Η αυτονοµία στο διδακτικό έργο των εκπαιδευτικών». Άπτεται του 1ου ερευνητικού ερωτήµατος. ∆ιακρίνονται οχτώ (8) Θεµατικές Υποκατηγορίες που είναι οι κάτωθι: Η ευελιξία του διδακτικού υλικού (1η ΘΥΠΚ), η πλήρης γνώση του αντικειµένου εργασίας (2η ΘΥΠΚ) και η ελευθερία δράσεων (3η ΘΥΠΚ). Η τέταρτη Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (4η ΘΥΠΚ) είναι οι κρατικοί παράγοντες. Οι σχέσεις των εκπαιδευτικών- συναδέλφων (5η ΘΥΠΚ). Η έκτη Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (6η ΘΥΠΚ) έχει να κάνει µε τους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν την αυτονοµία του εκπαιδευτικού στην ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση και ο βαθµός αίσθησης αυτονοµίας τους (7η ΘΥΠΚ). Τέλος, στην όγδοη Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (8η ΘΥΠΚ) ανήκει ο χαρακτήρας του εκπαιδευτικού ως παράγοντας στην αυτονοµία του.
Στην τέταρτη Θεµατική Κατηγορία (4η ΘΚ) εντάσσεται «Ο ρόλος του οικογενειακού και του σχολικού περιβάλλοντος στη διαµόρφωση της προσωπικότητας του παιδιού και η εµπλοκή των γονέων στα µαθησιακά ζητήµατα», η οποία ανταποκρίνεται στο 2ο ερευνητικό ερώτηµα. Η πρώτη Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (1η ΘΥΠΚ) είναι οι παράγοντες διαµόρφωσης της συµπεριφοράς των µαθητών στο ιδιωτικό σχολείο. Ο βαθµός εµπλοκής των γονέων στα µαθησιακά ζητήµατα και η ποιότητα της σχέσης µε τον εκπαιδευτικό στην ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση είναι η δεύτερη Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (2η ΘΥΠΚ). Τρίτη και τελευταία Θεµατική Υποκατηγορία (3η ΘΥΠΚ) είναι τα συναισθήµατα των εκπαιδευτικών για την εµπλοκή των γονέων στο διδακτικό τους έργο.
Στην τελευταία Θεµατική Κατηγορία της έρευνας (5η ΘΚ) βρίσκονται «Τα δικαιώµατα και οι επιθυµίες του εκπαιδευτικού ιδιωτικού τοµέα» και εντάσσονται στο 2ο ερευνητικό ερώτηµα. Οι Θεµατικές Υποκατηγορίες (ΘΥΠΚ) είναι οι εξής: Η θέσπιση των ορίων των εκπαιδευτικών (1η ΘΥΠΚ) και η διατύπωση των επιθυµιών των εκπαιδευτικών (2η ΘΥΠΚ).
ΚΕΦΑΛΑΙΟ 5 ΣΥΜΠΕΡΑΣΜΑΤΑ – ΣΥΖΗΤΗΣΗ
Από τα αποτελέσµατα της παρούσας έρευνας προκύπτει ότι η πλειοψηφία των ερωτηθέντων εκπαιδευτικών χαρακτηρίζει τον «αυτόνοµο» άνθρωπο ως «κυρίαρχο του εαυτού του», όπως είχε αναφέρει και ο Wolff (1970).
Στα συµπεράσµατα που προκύπτουν για το διδακτικό του έργο, οι επαγγελµατίες εκπαιδευτικοί θέλουν να είναι αρωγοί στη δηµιουργία της ολόπλευρης προσωπικότητας των µαθητών τους σε συνεργασία µε το οικογενειακό περιβάλλον ανεξαρτήτως ετών προϋπηρεσίας. Οι µισοί περίπου ερωτηθέντες εκπαιδευτικοί νιώθουν ότι έχουν αυτονοµία στο διδακτικό τους έργο στην ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση εφόσον διαθέτουν και πολυετή εµπειρία ενώ οι υπόλοιποι ότι απολαµβάνουν οριακά την αυτονοµία τους καθότι έχουν την λιγότερη προϋπηρεσία. Το εύρηµα αυτό συµφωνεί µε ερευνητικά δεδοµένα από προηγούµενες επιστηµονικές µελέτες όπου κάθε εκπαιδευτικός έχει διαφορετική αντίληψη της αυτονοµίας διότι την ασκεί και στον αντίστοιχο βαθµό που του επιτρέπεται (Little, 1990) καθώς και το γεγονός ότι κάθε επαγγελµατίας δεν αποζητά και τον ίδιο βαθµό άσκησης της αυτονοµίας του (Hughes, 1975).
Επιπλέον, οι εκπαιδευτικοί κάνουν λόγο για την ευελιξία του διδακτικού υλικού, την ευκαιρία για αυτενέργεια των ίδιων και στην επιλογή µεθόδων επιβράβευσης ή ποινής της συµπεριφοράς των µαθητών τους, προσαρµοσµένα στη δυναµική της εκάστοτε τάξης και τις ανάγκες των µαθητών του τµήµατος.
Ορισµένοι, φυσικά, υποστηρίζουν ότι η αυτονοµία του εκπαιδευτικού και η αυτονοµία του διδακτικού έργου είναι έννοιες που ταυτίζονται για το καλό των µαθητών. Σε αυτό συµβάλλει, όπως τονίζουν, το κράτος µε τις αλλαγές στους ισχύοντες νόµους, η διοίκηση του σχολείου και το υποστηρικτικό συνεργατικό επαγγελµατικό περιβάλλον και η ποιότητα της σχέσης µε τους γονείς. Σχετικά µε τον δεύτερο παράγοντα, ο Latendresse (2005) µίλησε για ακαδηµαϊκή επιτυχία των παιδιών οι γονείς των οποίων είχαν εκδηλώσει τις επιθυµίες και τις επιδιώξεις τους για όσο το δυνατόν άνοδο στην εκπαιδευτική τους πορεία.
Αναφορικά µε τη σχέση που έχουν µε τους υπόλοιπους εκπαιδευτικούς στη σχολική µονάδα που εργάζονται, η πλειοψηφία αυτών µε λίγα έτη εργασίας διατείνεται ότι η καλή σχέση επηρεάζει την αυτονοµία του καθενός τους στο σηµείο, βέβαια, που κι οι ίδιοι επιτρέπουν να συµβεί κάτι τέτοιο. Η οµαλή συνεργασία φέρνει καλύτερα αποτελέσµατα στο διδακτικό έργο, αναφέρουν κάποιοι ενώ άλλοι που έχουν τα περισσότερα χρόνια στις σχολικές αίθουσες διαφωνούν καθώς δεν τα θεωρούν αλληλένδετα έχοντας (Pearson & Moomaw, 2005). ∆υστυχώς, για µερικούς, η αξιολόγηση και βαθµολόγηση των µαθητών δεν επαφίεται αµιγώς στις ιδιότητες τους.
Ο Bandura (1997) καταδεικνύοντας τους παράγοντες της αυτό-αποτελεσµατικότητας του εκπαιδευτικού, σηµείωσε και τον ρόλο του χαρακτήρα του. Σαφώς, η οικογένεια είναι αυτή που χρειάζεται να βρίσκεται σε αλληλεπίδραση µε τους εκπαιδευτικούς των παιδιών τους ώστε να υπάρχει σύµπνοια και αντιστοιχία των απόψεων τους, γεγονός που εκλαµβάνεται από τους µαθητές και τα αποτελέσµατα αυτής είναι άκρως θετικά σε επίδοση αλλά και στην εν γένει συµπεριφορά των γονέων (Stevenson & Baker, 1987).
Συµπερασµατικά, οι ιδιωτικοί εκπαιδευτικοί της έρευνας αυτής καταλήγουν πως ένα µόνο ποσοστό των γονέων που έχουν επιλέξει την ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση για τα παιδιά τους, το έκαναν για να έχουν το πρόσχηµα να µπορούν να επεµβαίνουν στα µαθησιακά ζητήµατα λόγω της καταβολής των διδάκτρων. Οι εκπαιδευτικοί αυτοί έχουν προϋπηρεσία από ένα (1) έως έξι (6) έτη δηλαδή ανήκουν στην κατηγορία µε τη λιγότερη εµπειρία σε αντίθεση µε τους υπόλοιπους συµµετέχοντες στην έρευνα.
Σε γενικές γραµµές, οι εκπαιδευτικοί της έρευνας διατυπώνουν την άποψη ότι η παρεµβατική στάση των γονέων γίνεται υποσυνείδητα ή µερικώς εσκεµµένα µε διακριτικότητα µέσω των µαθητών. Κάποιοι από τους λόγους που οι ερωτηθέντες εκπαιδευτικοί δηλώνουν ικανοποιηµένοι από τη συχνότητα των συναντήσεων τους µε τους γονείς και την τυπικότητα της σχέσης µαζί τους και τονίζονται τα λίγα έτη προϋπηρεσίας τους. Είναι γεγονός ότι η εµπλοκή των γονέων στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία των παιδιών τους κρίνεται ως θετικής συνέπειας για αυτά (Driessen et al, 2005 & Latendresse, 2005), αρκεί αυτή να είναι οριοθετηµένη.
Τον προβληµατισµό του εκφράζει ένα µέρος των εκπαιδευτικών της έρευνας µε την ελάσσονα προϋπηρεσία σχετικά µε το κατά πόσο η αξιολόγησή τους στην ιδιωτική βαθµίδα εκπαίδευσης και το ενδεχόµενο ανεργίας στο µέλλον, εξαρτάται από την άποψη των γονέων για αυτούς προς τους προϊσταµένους τους. Η λύση σε αυτούς στο φλέγον ζήτηµα έρχεται µε τη θέσπιση των ορίων των εκπαιδευτικών προς τους γονείς από τα πρώτα στάδια της γνωριµίας τους, γεγονός που έχει καταγραφεί και σε προηγούµενη έρευνα (Maslach, 1993).
Εποµένως, οι εκπαιδευτικοί της έρευνας µε λίγα χρόνια προϋπηρεσίας ως προσπάθεια για την ενίσχυση της αυτονοµίας τους, επιζητούν περισσότερη ελευθερία στις διδακτικές τους µεθόδους µε ευελιξία του αναλυτικού προγράµµατος από µεριάς του αντίστοιχου Υπουργείου. Επιπλέον, επιδιώκουν αύξηση του χρόνου για συζητήσεις ευρέως περιεχόµενου µε τους µαθητές τους σε θέµατα που άπτονται της καθηµερινής τους ζωής και εκτός σχολικού περιβάλλοντος. Μολονότι, οι εκπαιδευτικοί της έρευνας θεωρούν ότι είναι αυτόνοµοι στην εργασία τους, µερικώς ή πλήρως και ανεξαρτήτως χρόνων εργασίας, διατυπώνουν την ανάγκη για επίδειξη µεγαλύτερης εµπιστοσύνης στο πρόσωπό τους τόσο από τους ιθύνοντες του ιδιωτικού σχολείου όσο και από τους γονείς, εύρηµα το οποίο συµφωνεί µε αντίστοιχα αποτελέσµατα των ερευνών του Καψάλη (2006, 2009) για έκβαση θετικών αποτελεσµάτων στη µαθητική ζωή των παιδιών όταν επιτυγχάνεται η αρµονία των σχέσεων των γονέων µε το σχολικό περιβάλλον.
Τέλος, ξεχωριστή αναφορά θα πρέπει να γίνει στη µεταβλητή των «ετών προϋπηρεσίας». Όπως καταδεικνύεται από τα ευρήµατα της ποιοτικής αυτής έρευνας, παρατηρείται πως οι εκπαιδευτικοί, οι οποίοι εργάζονται στην ιδιωτική εκπαίδευση από ένα (1) έως έξι (6) χρόνια είναι και εκείνοι που αισθάνονται λιγότερο αυτόνοµοι τόσο ως επαγγελµατίες όσο και στην άσκηση του διδακτικού τους έργου. Επιπλέον, θεωρούν πως η ποιότητα της σχέσης µεταξύ συναδέλφων, ο χαρακτήρας του εκπαιδευτικού- επαγγελµατία, η άποψη των γονέων των µαθητών τους και η διεύθυνση του σχολείου είναι οι βασικότεροι από τους παράγοντες που περιορίζουν την αυτονοµία τους. Αποτέλεσµα αυτού, είναι η επιθυµία τους για µεγαλύτερη ελευθερία στην εργασία τους. Αναφορικά µε τους εκπαιδευτικούς της έρευνας µε προϋπηρεσία από επτά (7) έως εννιά (9) έτη, αυτοί βιώνουν την επιθυµητή ελευθερία στον εργασιακό τους χώρο αν και ορισµένοι θα ήθελαν και παραπάνω. Τέλος, οι εκπαιδευτικοί της έρευνας µε πολυετή εµπειρία (από δέκα (10) έως είκοσι (20) χρόνια) αν και σε αριθµό είναι µόνο τέσσερις (4) µιλάνε ξεκάθαρα για τη βίωση του απόλυτου βαθµού αυτονοµίας τους. Εποµένως, τα έτη προϋπηρεσίας παίζουν σηµαντικό ρόλο στην αίσθηση αλλά και στη διεκδίκηση της αυτονοµίας του εκπαιδευτικού- επαγγελµατία εν προκειµένω.
Τα συµπεράσµατα της παρούσας έρευνας έγκειται σε περιορισµούς, οι οποίοι προέρχονται από το περιορισµένο αριθµό συµµετεχόντων εκπαιδευτικών στην έρευνα και τη χρήση ενός ερευνητικού εργαλείου, ήτοι της ηµι-δοµηµένης συνέντευξης. Σε µελλοντικές έρευνες επέκτασης της µελέτης αυτού του θέµατος προτείνονται (α) η χρήση και άλλων ερευνητικών εργαλείων όπως είναι για παράδειγµα η κατασκευή ενός ερωτηµατολογίου ή και η επιτόπια παρατήρηση σε ιδιωτικά σχολεία, (β) η συµµετοχή περισσότερων εκπαιδευτικών ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης και (γ) η χρήση µιας άλλης µεθόδου όπως θα µπορούσε να είναι µια µελέτη περίπτωσης.

ABSTRACT
This study presents primary school teachers' opinions in the private education sector about their degree of teaching autonomy and whether their autonomy is influenced by the intervening role of their pupils' parents. In this context, the theoretical part of the study presents the concepts of "autonomy", "teacher autonomy" and "autonomy of the teaching work" as well as the teachers' beliefs of private primary education and the ways with which they are influenced by the involvement of the students' family environment.
The research employs the qualitative paradigm and the research tool used is semi-structured interviews. The results of the research reveal a variety of limiting factors to the autonomy of teachers and their teaching practice, while some of the areas of involvement of the parents/guardians are enumerated. The teachers' desire for parents’ disengagement from their evaluation is also recorded. In general, autonomy has been proved to be inextricably linked to the attitude or personality of the teacher and its effects are present in a variety of ways. Finally, suggestions are made to improve the position of the teacher within the wider context of private education.

INTRODUCTION
The school is generally considered to be a miniature of society. People with diverse backgrounds and skin colour, people of different languages and religions, people from high social backgrounds as well as from middle or low social backgrounds, interact in classrooms daily (Manousou, 2017). European countries are increasingly granting increased autonomy to their teachers (Eurydice, 2008), while in the Greek educational system this does not exist due to the centralized and conservative nature of education in schools (Pasiardis, 2004). Parents tend to intervene in their children's lives as students and, by extension, in purely learning issues, which are the concern of teachers (Comer & Haynes, 1991). Sometimes this is considered necessary. However, many times, the result of this intervention is a reduction in the teacher's autonomy in their teaching work (Hawes & Plourde, 2005). Parents want to have the first and last say on their children's education even in the classroom, downgrading the role of the teacher, whom they themselves pay in private education (Psaltis & Gavriilidou, 1996).
The conclusions of this qualitative research were drawn exclusively from the personal views of the aforementioned individuals and due to the small sample size, the widespread use of the results of the research is limited.
1. AUTONOMY OF EDUCATIONAL WORK AND PRIVATE EDUCATION
1.1 The concept of autonomy
As Wolff (1970) points out, autonomy involves two components, perception, and behaviour. When an individual's beliefs and convictions have been formed based on a spirit of freedom, this will be also reflected in their behaviour as they act accordingly.
Raz (1986) recognizes in the concept of autonomy the political freedom and the personal value of its morality, resulting in individual well-being and the immense value of individual willpower (Marshall, 1994). Subsequently, self-interest differs from personal well-being, which is achieved by setting a high purposefulness of the individual that gives him/her well-being (Bellamy, 1988).
1.2 The autonomy of the educational project
Educational work is defined as the teaching work of the teacher in the context of a school complex with the result of this work being clear in the operation of the school (Papakonstantinou, 1993). The teacher also has the role of the person who encourages the student to think, act and interact with him/her while at the same time, he/she is the active recipient of the teaching work (Nomikos, 2006). The educational community accepts Holec's (1981) definition which refers to the right of decision making and freedom in the teacher's preferences on how to implement his/her teaching work and the application of supervisory tools with the active participation of all those present within the classroom. The evaluation of the educational work consists of a hotchpotch of the curricula, the infrastructure of the school premises in terms of materials and equipment, participation in the Parent-Teacher Association and its methodology (Benson, 2001).
1.3 Teacher autonomy in the teaching work
Each teacher, depending on his/her working environment, has a different perception of autonomy because he/she exercises it to the corresponding extent that he/she is allowed to do so (Little, 1990). The teacher's autonomy is based on his or her independence combined with isolation and solitude from colleagues and school administrators (Hargreaves, 1994).
Short's (1994) definition speaks of the teacher's freedom within the boundaries of the school setting and more specifically the classroom in terms of organization, management and use of the supervisory materials of the lesson. Specialized knowledge in his/her field inevitably shapes his/her authority.
A natural consequence of the above is the recognition of the teacher's value by other colleagues and the management of the school where he/she works so that he/she is entitled to make decisions on wider school issues (Pearson & Moomaw, 2005).
According to Maslach (1993, p. 20), the build-up of accumulated emotions leads mathematically to psychological exhaustion, with a direct impact on the neurological system of the human organism. Bandura (1997) emphasizes that the goals, strategies and motivation to overcome difficulties come as an outgrowth of the learning development and influence behaviour.
Private and public education in Greece
In our country, the educational system is shaped accordingly by the governmental structure at the time and the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs oversees educational issues. The dominant characteristic of the system is its pyramidal and hierarchical structure (Kontis et al., 2007: 1388). The character of Greek education is linear and centralized.
Education is divided into private and public, with the former growing rapidly compared to the latter. Private educational institutions in our country are also under the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs (M.E.R.R.A.), as well as public education. The control in the private sector lies in terms of teaching staff, building facilities and the number of classrooms, classes and pupils in them (European Commission, 2008). Also, the same Greek-language subjects are taught with a greater emphasis on foreign-language subjects and activities provided.
2. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN PRIVATE SECTOR EDUCATION
2.1 Factors of parental involvement in private sector education
The primary elements that a child embraces are respect and understanding. Meta-analyses of research on strategies for higher educational achievement lead to the consideration of three types of parental aid. The first type refers to the way parents educate their children through their after-school educational programs (e.g., visits to museums, libraries, educational books). The second type is the involvement of parents in school administration or through volunteering and communication with the teaching staff and finally, the third type is the planning of the children's careers based on their aspirations and expectations for their offspring (Hill & Tyson, 2009).
The more educated parents are, the greater their desire to enhance their social capital through their children and double their involvement at home on school preparation (Hill & Tyson, 2009). On the other hand, there are parents from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and minorities (Reynolds, 1992).
3. METHODOLOGY
3.1 The purpose of the research
The present study aims to investigate the views of private sector primary school teachers on the degree of autonomy they have in their teaching work and the role of their students' parents in shaping it. More specifically, the objectives are formulated as follows:
o To investigate the views of private sector primary school teachers on the degree of autonomy of teaching.
o To record the beliefs of private primary school teachers on the role of parents in shaping the framework of autonomy in teaching.
The necessity of conducting this research is proven by the literature review. Following the conclusions drawn from the sample of participants, the research is expected to contribute to making the "voice" of teachers in private schools heard in order to claim the maximum degree of autonomy in their teaching work and to achieve a harmonious cooperative action with parents in order to provide high quality education to students.
3.2 The research questions
The research questions of this study are listed as follows:
1) What are the views of private sector primary school teachers about the degree of autonomy they have in their teaching?
2) What are the beliefs of private primary school teachers about the role of parents in shaping the framework of autonomy in their teaching?
3.3 The research method and its limitations
According to Paraskevopoulou-Collias (2008) the qualitative method is the most complete way to collect and process information and data concerning the daily life of the participants in a survey, although there are diametrically opposed views.
The limitations of a qualitative research lie in the following elements (Braun & Clarke, 2006; Lincon & Guba, 1985 cited in Sarafidou, 2011: 84- 87 & in Tsiolis, 2014: 380 -382; Isari & Pourkos, 2015: 124- 126):
1) The research should be prevailed by the credibility of the sample.
2) Its transferability.
3) In this respect, it was necessary to clarify some questions to the interviewees. This is the dependability of qualitative research.
4) The confirmation of the results of each research by other researchers (confirmability).
3.3.1 The research participants
The participants in this study were selected according to strict standards to meet the necessary characteristics. Prior to the interview, they were informed in detail about the purpose of the research and the researcher's details both verbally and in writing by signing a consent form.
Specifically, a total of 20 people participated in this qualitative survey. The participants are all teachers in primary education in the private sector. Fourteen of them are teachers (PE70) who have their own classroom (S... -EKP/T) while the remaining six (6) are teachers of specialties such as Drama, Physical Education, English, German (S....-EKP/EID). They are all residents of urban areas of the prefecture of Attica, Thessaloniki, Western Achaia.
Private sector primary school teachers responded in the first stage to questions regarding their demographic characteristics.
More specifically, in the first question on years of experience in education in general, twelve (12) out of a total of twenty (20) individuals have worked from one (1) to six (6) years with most working four (4) years. It is noted that nine (9) individuals are teachers with their own classroom (PE70) and the remaining three (3) are teachers of specialties such as Physical Education and foreign languages. The other four (4) teachers interviewed responded that they have been working in the field of education for seven (7) up to nine (9) years of which three (3) are primary school teachers (PE70) and one (1) is a foreign language teacher. Finally, the remaining four (4) teachers have been in the profession from ten (10) to twenty (20) years with equivalence between general education and specialization.
In the second demographic question on how many years they have been working in the current school unit where the interview was conducted, four teachers were hired in the previous academic year, namely they have been there for one year (three are primary school teachers and one is a specialist teacher), three have been working for two years (all of them are primary school teachers), the other two have been working for three years (as primary school teachers). Further, each one teacher works in the same school for four years (primary school teacher), five years (primary school teacher), seven years (primary school teacher), eight years (primary school teacher), 15 years (foreign language teacher). Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that only four primary school or specialist teachers of the respondents remain in the same school for six years and two teachers for nine years of service. In the third and final question of demographic characteristics to investigate the choice or not of a particular school by the primary private school teachers, the responses received were as follows:
Sixteen (16) teachers responded positively and four of them responded negatively. Specifically, eleven are primary school teachers and five are specialty teachers who chose this school to work while three primary school teachers and one specialty teacher did not make that choice.
3.3.2 The research tool of the survey
The research tool used is the semi-structured interview method, with some questions and with the formulation of new relevant questions that emerged during the discussion. The questions were focused on exploring the views of the participating teachers based on the research questions about the degree of autonomy in their teaching and the role of parents in shaping this context. The content of the interview questions has been derived from the literature review of the topic under investigation and has been checked by both the researcher and the supervisor.
3.4 Analysis of research data
With the completion of all the interviews, their recording and de-recording, the organization and extraction of thematic categories and subcategories was implemented with the necessary processing of these primary data in order to structure them according to the questions and purpose of this qualitative research without the use of any software (Hahn, 2008). The "content analysis" method was preferred and with the microanalysis technique, namely the "line by line" analysis of the content of the interview questions (Strauss & Corbin, 1996). This resulted in the initial grouping of the content of the interview guide questions. More specifically, the first broad grouping concerns the general perceptions of primary private school teachers about the term 'autonomy' and autonomy in teaching and the factors influencing it in the field where they currently work, and the second grouping concerns the role of parents in the degree of autonomy of teachers in private education. The existence of these groups was very helpful in classifying the primary material and highlighting the relationships even if they do not correspond to the respective aspects of reality (Silverman, 2000). The coding method chosen by the researcher is Thematic grouping of the interview questions (Richards, 2005). Below is the commentary of the recorded data having the necessary documentation from the words of the participating teachers.
4. RESULTS
More specifically, the first Thematic Category (1st TC) is "The criteria for selecting the public sector versus the private sector". This category corresponds to the first (1st) research question. From their responses, the following six (6) Thematic Subcategories (TSC) emerged. Career advancement (2nd SPC). Professional tenure (3rd TSC). Uncertainty about the professional future in the public sector (4th TSC) and the place of appointment (5th TSC). The sixth (6th) Thematic Subcategory (TSC) is the pay equivalence between the public and private sectors.
The second thematic category (2nd TSC) is "The concept of autonomy in general", which answers the first research question. In this regard, the thematic subcategories (TSC) are three (3): the freedom of choices, decisions, actions without restrictions and controls (1st TSC), as a characteristic of independence (2nd TSC) and finally, they attribute to it the characteristic of childhood skill with its beginning from a very young age. The third thematic category (3rd TSC) is "Autonomy in teachers' teaching work". It concerns the 1st research question. Eight (8) thematic subcategories are distinguished which are as follows: Flexibility of teaching materials (1st TSC), full knowledge of the subject matter of work (2nd TSC) and freedom of action (3rd TSC). The fourth thematic subcategory (4th TSC) is the state actors. Teacher-colleague relations (5th TSC). The sixth thematic subcategory (6th TSC) has to do with the factors affecting teacher autonomy in private education and the degree of their sense of autonomy (7th TSC). Finally, the eighth thematic subcategory (8th TSC) is the teacher's character as a factor in their autonomy.
The fourth thematic category (4th TSC) is "The role of the family and school environment in shaping the child's personality and parental involvement in learning issues", which responds to the 2nd research question. The first thematic subcategory (1st TSC) is the factors shaping students' behaviour in private school. The degree of parental involvement in learning issues and the quality of the relationship with the teacher in private school is the second thematic subcategory (2nd TSC). The third and final thematic subcategory (3rd TSC) is teachers' feelings about parental involvement in their teaching work.
In the last research topic category (5th TC) are "The rights and desires of the private education sector" and are part of the 2nd research question. The thematic subcategories (TSCs) are as follows: The setting of teachers' boundaries (1st TSC) and the articulation of teachers' desires (2nd TSC).
5. CONCLUSIONS - PROPOSALS
From the results of the present research, it is clear that most of the teachers interviewed characterize the "autonomous" person as "master of himself", as Wolff (1970) had mentioned.
In the conclusions drawn for his teaching work, professional teachers want to be helpers in the creation of the all-round personality of their students in collaboration with the family environment, regardless of years of experience. About half of the teachers interviewed feel that they have autonomy in their teaching work in private education since they have many years of experience while the rest feel that they enjoy their autonomy marginally since they have the least amount of experience. This finding is consistent with research data from previous scientific studies where each teacher has a different perception of autonomy because they exercise it and to the respective degree they are allowed (Little, 1990) as well as the fact that not every professional seeks the same degree of exercising their autonomy (Hughes, 1975).
In addition, teachers refer to the flexibility of the teaching material, the opportunity for self-direction and the choice of methods of rewarding or punishing the behaviour of their students, adapted to the dynamics of each class and the needs of the students in the class.
Some, of course, argue that teacher autonomy and teaching autonomy are concepts that are synonymous for the sake of students. This is contributed to, they point out, by the state through changes in current laws, by school administration and the supportive collaborative professional environment, and by the quality of the relationship with parents. Regarding the second factor, Latendresse (2005) spoke of academic success of children whose parents had expressed their desires and aspirations to rise as high as possible in their educational career.
Regarding their relationship with other teachers in the school unit where they work, the majority of those with a few years of experience claim that a good relationship affects their autonomy to the point, of course, where they themselves allow this to happen. Smooth collaboration brings better results in teaching work, some say, while others who have the most years in classrooms disagree as they do not consider them interrelated having (Pearson & Moomaw, 2005). Unfortunately, for some, the assessment and grading of students does not rely purely on their qualities.
Bandura (1997), in demonstrating the factors of teacher self-efficacy, noted the role of teacher character. Clearly, it is the family that needs to be in interaction with their children's teachers so that there is synergy and correspondence of their views, which is perceived by the students and the results of this are highly positive in achievement and in the general behavior of the parents (Stevenson & Baker, 1987).
In conclusion, the private teachers in this study conclude that only a percentage of parents who have chosen private education for their children have done so under the pretext of being able to intervene in learning issues because of the payment of fees. These teachers have between one (1) and six (6) years of experience, namely they belong to the category with the least experience unlike the other participants in the study.
In general, the teachers in the study expressed the view that the interventionist attitude of parents is subconsciously or partially intentionally discriminated through the students. Some of the reasons why the teachers interviewed expressed satisfaction with the frequency of their meetings with parents and the formality of their relationship with them and highlighted their few years of experience. It is a fact that parental involvement in their children's educational process is judged to be of positive consequence for them (Driessen et al, 2005 & Latendresse, 2005), if it is bounded.
A part of the teachers in the survey with minor experience expressed their concern about the extent to which their evaluation in private education and the possibility of unemployment in the future depends on the parents' opinion of them to their supervisors. The solution to this burning issue comes in the form of setting the boundaries of teachers to parents from the early stages of their acquaintance, which has been documented in previous research (Maslach, 1993).
Therefore, the teachers in the study with a few years of experience, in an effort to enhance their autonomy, seek more freedom in their teaching methods with flexibility in the curriculum from the side of the respective Ministry. In addition, they seek more time for wide-ranging discussions with their students on topics relevant to their daily lives and outside the school environment. Although, the teachers in the survey consider themselves to be autonomous in their work, partially or fully and regardless of the years of work, they express the need to demonstrate greater trust in them by both private school decision-makers and parents, a finding which is in line with similar results of research by Kapsalis (2006, 2009) on the outcome of positive results in the children's learning life when harmony in the relationship between parents and the school environment is achieved.
Finally, a separate reference should be made to the variable "years of experience". As demonstrated by the findings of this qualitative research, it is observed that teachers who have been working in private education from one (1) to six (6) years are also the ones who feel less autonomous both as professionals and in the practice of their teaching work. In addition, they consider the quality of relationship among colleagues, the character of the teacher-professional, the opinion of their students' parents and the school management as the main factors limiting their autonomy. As a result of this, their desire for more freedom in their work. Regarding the teachers in the study with seven (7) to nine (9) years of service, they experience the desired freedom in their workplace although some would like more. Finally, the survey teachers with years of experience (from ten (10) to twenty (20) years) although only four (4) in number clearly speak of experiencing their absolute degree of autonomy. Therefore, years of experience play an important role in the sense and in the assertion of autonomy of the teacher-practitioner in this regard.
The findings of the present study lie in limitations, which stem from the limited number of teacher participants in the study and the use of one research tool, namely the semi-structured interview. In future researches extending the study of this topic, it is suggested that (a) other research tools should be used, such as for example the construction of a questionnaire or even field observation in private schools, (b) more private school teachers should be involved and (c) another method should be used such as a case study.
