French term

teneur du passif

French to English Bus/Financial Investment / Securities
From an agreement concerning custody of financial securities:

disagree Francois Boye : holder in English = DETENTEUR in French, not TENEUR.http://www.cnrtl.fr/definition/teneur

agree Daryo : this particular occurrence is about an entity that is holding this "passif" // basic reality check passed: WHO can do this: "une convention spécifique avec le teneur du passif doit être signée"?

Response to DARYO: The text is saying that the book-keeping of the customers 'assets must obey the law. In addition, should the book-keeping be outsourced, the book-keeper must be approved by the FCP customers.

disagree Daryo : since when a book-keeper has any authority to make agreements on behalf of any entity? It's NOT a director!!! you jump too easily form "tenue" keeping the books to "teneur" book-keeper! Context for each word ...

Pas d'accord ! holding in English does not mean TENUE in French. If you were right, the text would have said DETENTION!
agree Peter LEGUIE : "Book-keeping" or possibly just "management". I agree with you.
