Discussion

Richard Boulter Dec 2, 2010:
Thanks Patricia Yes, the usually prohibited English double negative in the same sentence is a play on words, for those readers who have enough of the (supposed??) English grammar to recognize it; the rest of us just take it at face value and see the self-cancelling negative in the phrase. ';-).
Patricia di Lorenzo Dec 2, 2010:
Estoy completamente de acuerdo con Richard; es con "without" que la frase adquiere el sentido.
Richard Boulter Dec 2, 2010:
'Though/thought' & 'Without/with' I think that this source context includes two typo's: 'Though/ not thought' and 'Without/ not with'. So the phrase I perceive to be intended was 'Though not without some unexpected quirks, models lent...' This would be pretty common wording for a subtly critical comment on the outcome of the models' performance/suitability/etc. Best check with the author, since the way this is written doesn't say anything real, in English.

Cecilia, creo que es un error de tipeo por eso me atrevo a decir que es Though, a vos que te parece?

aunque no carecia de caprichos...

This is the opposite of the other answer. It's a subtle wording to say, 'though there were dubious factors...'

Best regards

No sin exhibir algunos caprichos ya esperados

No sin exhibir algunos caprichos ya esperados, de todas formas los modelos xxx y xxx prestaron sus (borrosas) caras para la realización de una colección sobre temas militares modernos.

Con el aporte de Richard, se me ocurre esta versión, ¿qué les parece?
