What is the most suitable Arabic translation for "ribs" in the following sentence:

The chef says "The heat in the hot pepper lives in the seeds and the ribs"

I know what she means by ribs but I can't find a suitable Arabic word. I know only ضلوع and I thought of غشاء but found it not accurate.
