Dutch term

Welvaartvastheid

Dutch to English Law/Patents Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. Social welfare
I am looking for an acceptable English translation of the Dutch/Flemish term "welvaartvastheid", preferably either as a single noun or as a compound noun.
The concept refers to the linkage of welfare benefits to the rise of the overall level of welfare, as distinct from wages and benefits being index-linked.
The French equivalent used in Belgium, "lien/liaison au bien-être", is a descriptive phrase rather than a compact noun which does not quite suit the purpose.
Any help much appreciated :-)

Could you edit the errors in the reply chosen ("porosperity" and the word "of") for the benefit of the glossary, please? Also, you might consider including an English answer in the glossary, for instance changing the answer to "prosperity link" - if that's what you've selected.

Thank you very much, Chris. Your link certainly lends further substance to Toiny's suggestion.

Note from asker:
Thank you Toiny. Certainly sounds acceptable enough. I'd thought of "welfare-linked" myself as a verbal/adjective form, which could be turned into "welfare or prosperity link" as the required noun. But "prosperity-link" certainly has an authentic enough ring to it.

index-linking

According to the glossary at pensioenspecial.nl, welvaartvast and waardevast are synonyms, and both refer to a benefit that keeps pace with prices.

I'm not sure there is a real distinction between the general level of welfare and the price indexes. Surely the various price indexes are a measure of welfare?

OK, here's a distinction between index-linked and prosperity-linked pensions made by a researcher at De Nederlandsche Bank:
-> "In fact, pension funds do not only aim to provide a guaranteed pension but also try to link benefits to the price index (inflation-proof pensions) or to wages (prosperity-linked
pensions)."
Toiny's 'prosperity-linked' would therefore seem to offer good mileage here.

Example sentence:

Welvaartvast pensioen - De pensioenrechten worden aan de hand van de loonindex aangepast.

Waardevast pensioen - De pensioenrechten worden aan de hand van de prijsindex aangepast.

Note from asker:
Thank you, Chris. I would certainly agree as to the distinction being very vague. I may be wrong but the way I understand it is that index-linked wages and benefits are subject to the index being overstepped whereas the index as a mechanism of maintaining an equitable balance with the cost of living has been doctored and revised to such an extent over the last decade (certainly in Belgium) that it no longer truthfully reflects that link. The element of "welvaartvastheid" comes in as a means of redressing this loss of balance, especially for welfare benefits, in that it involves (usually annual, biannual ...) decisions at government level to raise benefits (child benefits, pensions, unemployment ...) to maintain an equitable balance with a flat fee incremental rise. That would be where it differs from "index-linked".

agree Kate Hudson (X) : Indeed several indices can be used to determine the level of a single benefit
