Italian term
veletta in cartongesso
Italian to English

Architecture
architecture website, context:
Il pilastro che si trova nella zona giorno è stato esaltato collegandolo con una veletta in cartongesso, creando quindi una continuità lineare che separa ma non divide la zona soggiorno con la zona cottura.
hardly a 'veil' is it? would plasterboard panel be OK?

plasterboard [or drywall] partition
Yes, it's nothing but a panel that helps to visually separate the two areas. You can use either "panel" or "partition" according to your taste.

plasterboard downstand
I often use downstand for veletta but this does assume that it comes down from ceiling level or forms part of a multi-level ceiling.

plasterboard element
As Russell says, we do not know the form of this "veletta", so I thought that "element" is also a possible choice.
