This actually appears in a Spanish contract(!) and I have a pretty good idea of what it means, since it's very similar, but I just want to check anyway. Yes, there should be a little squiggle (una tilde) over the 'a' of "nao", but I don't know how to get it on the screen!!!

Some more context would be helpful though. I just remember that we sometimes use "estou a inventar" as "maybe I'm wrong" (roughly), or perhaps even "I'm over-egging the pudding". Anyway, I hope it helped.

I suspect the whole thing will be re-written anyway (the whole clause is quite long, and this little phrase was tagged on to the end). They told me to leave the Portugese phrase as it is and add a rough English translation after it. |
