dichas ventas no tendrían lugar de no prestarse dichos servicios

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
Regrding a services contract:

De acuerdo con el Contrato, XXX realiza las siguientes actividades:

-Prestación de una serie de servicios íntimamente ligados a las ventas de los productos, en la medida en que dichas ventas no tendrían lugar de no prestarse dichos servicios.

...insofar as these sales do not occur as a result of these services not being provided? (I think I need more coffee :)
TIA!

these sales would not be made if such services were not provided

this is the rare circumstance where you need to use subjunctive in English...
Peer comment(s):

agree Kathryn Litherland : Yay, subjunctive! I also tend to favor the use of "these" over "said" or "such" for "dicho," but here because it's repeated, your these/such works well.

thanks! I think you and I think alike... about both subjunctive and "such"...
agree Adrian MM. (X) : yes, good use of the subj. for the conditional: if...were not...

Exactly... something I drill into my students, who are afraid of the subjunctive... Thanks!
agree Alex Lago : I agree but would change "not be made" to "not take place", just sounds better to me in this context

insofar as said sales would not take place if the said services were not provided

...in other words, the sales depend on the service being provided.
I'm not 100%, but I think this is what is meant. It's a bit of a head-wrecker, this sentence! go get some coffee, girl :)))

You could also say "insofar as said sales are dependent on the said services being provided".
Peer comment(s):

agree Adrian MM. (X) : again, good use of the subjunctive 'were' for the conditional after if.

these sales would not take place unless these services are provided/rendered

The second part sounds much more natural than "if these services were not to be provided", at least for me.
