Буква Ё/Е: форма написания

Добрый день коллеги!

у меня простой вопрос. Подскажите, пожалуйста, как сейчас принято в русской печати, форма написания с буквой "ё" или с "е" в словах, как напр., счет, счетчик и т.п.
Я до сих пор всегда писала с буквой "е", но хотелось бы узнать мнение коллег, может быть есть какие-то новые правила?
