I have difficulties in finding a proper translaiton for "glazed ice" which could maintain the lycirism.

Nella pagina di Wikipedia citata sotto si legge la seguente frase: "Nel gelicidio invece l'involucro di ghiaccio cristallizzato è perfettamente trasparente, perché non contiene aria." Penso, perciò, che possa essere una soluzione alternativa a quelle già proposte dai colleghi.
