Jeff Beatty is the Senior Head of Localization at Mozilla, the makers of the open source web browser Firefox, as well as an Adjunct Faculty member at Brigham Young University (BYU). At Mozilla, he leads the highly collaborative open source effort to make the Internet accessible to people of all languages. At BYU, he has designed the university's translation and localization minor for undergraduate students, in addition to teaching a computer-assisted translation course. He holds an MS in Multilingual Computing and Localisation from the University of Limerick. He has also been featured as a community and localization expert in prominent global publications. |

Max Deryagin is a Russian freelance subtitler, Secretary of the British Subtitlers’ Association SUBTLE, and Academic Liaison of the AVTE federation. Throughout his decade-long career, Max has collaborated with corporate clients, subtitling agencies, video publishers, broadcasters and universities.

Burcu Demirörs is the co-founder and CEO of HeliCo Translation based in Turkey. She has been a translator and simultaneous interpreter actively working in the localization industry since 2009, with languages English, German, and Turkish. Burcu studied translation and interpreting at Dokuz Eylul University and simultaneous interpretation at the master's degree program at Hacettepe University in Turkey as the first “special student”. She translated millions of words and interpreted thousands of hours. She is giving translation and various language services with her team under the titles HeliCo Translation and HeliCo Simultaneous. She is a hard-working and determined individual with a motivated and creative mindset to help her start each day positively and do whatever it takes to reach her goals in life. Burcu is also one of the best woman paragliding pilots in Turkey, which is reflected in the name of her translation company. Allison Ferch is the Executive Director of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). Over the past 10 years she has served GALA in several roles and provided leadership for many of the association’s programs and activities. As Executive Director, she leads operations at GALA and is responsible for the growth of the association, its financial stability, and for the expansion and delivery of member value. Allison has an undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
