In early 2008, a Chinese seller and a Korean buyer entered into a contract for the sale and purchase of steel plates intended for ship-building. Both parties agreed that the destination port would be in India, that any disputes would be settled by an arbitral tribunal seated in Hong Kong, and that the tribunal’s decision would be binding. Subsequently, the Korean company entered into a separate contract to supply the Chinese steel plates to an Indian company. The Chinese company was aware of the latter contract. | Translation - Arabic
في أوائل عام 2008، قام بائع صيني ومشتري كوري بإبرام عقد بيع وشراء لألواح فولاذية مخصصة لبناء السفن. وافق كلا الطرفان على أن تكون الوجهة المقصودة إلى ميناء بالهند، وأنّه في حالة وجود نزاع، سيتم تسويته عن طريق محكمة التحكيم الكائن مقرها بهونغ كونغ، كما أنّ قرار المحكمة سيكون ملزم للامتثال. دخلت الشركة الكورية فيما بعد في عقد أخر بغرض تزويد الشركة الهندية بلوحات فولاذية صينية الصنع. إلا أنّ الشركة الصينية تفطنت للعقد الأخير. |

Mauritanie : Le prix fort d’une lutte pacifique contre l’esclavage et la discrimination

Moussa Biram est un militant de l’Initiative pour la résurgence du mouvement abolitionniste (IRA) en Mauritanie. Il est en prison avec son camarade Abdalahi Mattalah. Ce 13 novembre, ils passeront 500 jours dans une prison du désert mauritanien, d’où Moussa écrit cette lettre ouverte pour rappeler leurs difficiles conditions de détention tout en assumant leur courage de défendre ceux qui se battent pour lutter contre l’esclavage.

يعد موسى بيرام ناشط في مبادرة إنبعاث الحركة الإنعتاقية (م.إ.ح.إ) بموريتانيا. أين يتواجد حاليا في السجن برفقة زميله عبد اللاهي مطل الله. حيث سيقضون 500 يوم تزامنا مع 13 نوفمبر في سجن واقع بالصحراء الموريتانية، الذي كتب فيه موسى هذه الرسالة المفتوحة ليتذكر ظروف الاحتجاز الصعبة التي مر بها و دفاعه بكل شجاعة عن أولئك الذين يناضلون من أجل محاربة العبودية.
