Dear Wordfast Team, I searched the Wordfast website and YouTube for concise and short training videos/presentations on WFP5 but didn't find any. I'm a bit worried that there aren't any. I'm a bit worried that there aren't any. When I write 'concise and short' training videos, I mean 10-15-minute training videos/presentations like from WordBee, for instance, that nicely summarise the software features and functions and allow quick uptake of all essential information at a glance. Meanwhile, I have to work (probably like other translators too) with several different CAT tools and short and concise trainings are essential because of the constant updates and changes of each of these softwares that a translator needs to keep up with. I'm aware of the webinar videos with John DiRico about WFP4 including community queries - but they are too long with their over 60 minutes. I am also aware of the WFP text Wiki entries but they are not these concise and short 10-15 minute training videos/presentations I'm referring to that allow information uptake at a glance. I already watched the following videos (We are planning to add more soon http://www.proz.com/videos/4129-wordfast-pro-4-for-dummies http://www.proz.com/videos/4190-wordfast-pro-4-for-advanced-dummies http://www.proz.com/videos/4240-wordfast-pro-4-sandbox http://www.proz.com/videos/4358-wordfast-setting-up-and-using-the-general-features-of-wordfast-pro-4 http://www.proz.com/videos/4397-setting-up-and-using-the-general-features-of-wordfast-pro-4 http://www.proz.com/videos/4540-wordfast-setting-up-and-using-the-general-features-of-wordfast-pro-4) Did I miss anything? If yes, please advise clearly where to find these concise and short WFP5 training videos/presentations of 10-15 minutes as described above or let me know if there aren't any and if I have simply have to accept that there aren't any. Your help and direct answer is much appreciated! Kind regards, Julia ▲ Collapse | | | Julia Mojik Germany Local time: 01:52 Member (2007) English to German + ... My bests Hello Fi2 n Co, The initial request was referring to basic concise and short videos about the broader concept and how to get started to allow a user used to WFP3 to easily get into WFP5. Thank you very much for pointing out at targeted at specific features videos on YouTube and for sending the link. Much appreciated! It's always good to know where to find that stuff. I will first check the video prepared/edited by John DiRico and provide feedback to him. Thanks, Julia | |

Hi John, I watched your edited demo video. Again, thank you very much for this!!! It gives me the brief overview that I was looking for. Feedback on the WFP5 software as such: the point is that I still compare WFP5 to WFP3 I used to work with for a long time. I can't help it but WFP3 is still my favorite tool among all the CAT tools I got to know by now (MemoQ, Wordbee, memsource, XTM etc.). I miss the simplicity and the intuitiveness of WFP3 which was a lot easier to get and to work with. It was more Mac. More intuitive - less words. The number of different operating levels where the user has to switch back and forth has increased significantly with WFP5. More clicks 😝! I'm clear that WFP5 offers more options. However, I'm a friend of less is more. I also found the high number of false positives generated by the transcheck a bit striking - given that it was a quite short demo text. Feedback on your video as such: Taking into account my software feedback above, I would say that there don't seem to be more parts that should be taken out. The software is more complex and therefore needs more words to explain. I hope my feedback was helpful and clear. Please let me know if not. Thanks, Julia
